00:00Our story begins with an elderly woman named Barb.
00:03After her husband's death, she sets out to fulfill his final wish by scattering his ashes
00:08in Lake Hilda in northern Minnesota.
00:11On the way, she encounters an extremely heavy snowfall.
00:15Barb loses her way.
00:16She steps out of her vehicle, and that's when she hears someone's voice.
00:20Barb goes closer to take a look, and discovers a man's cabin nearby.
00:24There's a gun lying in this man's car, and blood splattered on the ground next to it.
00:29The man is startled to see Barb there.
00:32He asks her what she's doing here.
00:34Barb tells him she came here to go fishing.
00:36I used to come here with my husband a long time ago.
00:40Barb asks this man for directions to the lake.
00:43When she asks about the blood on the ground, the man tells her it's from a deer.
00:47After that, Barb finally reaches Lake Hilda.
00:50The entire lake is completely frozen over.
00:53Barb begins reminiscing about how she and her husband used to come here in their youth,
00:58and all the things they did together back then.
01:00Now, Barb is doing those same things alone.
01:03Barb sits down, holding her husband's ashes.

01:19And when she tries to leave in her vehicle, her pickup truck gets stuck in the snow.

01:25She watches the man heading back to his cabin.
01:28Once he's gone, Barb approaches the cabin.
01:31The cabin door is locked.
01:33The young girl is being held captive in the cabin's basement.
01:36Barb asks the girl,
01:38Are you hurt?
01:39But just then, two cars pull up.
01:41Along with the man, his wife Clara has also arrived.
01:45Clara was the one who told her husband David that he'd find this girl on her way back from the pharmacy.
01:50And that's exactly where he kidnapped her, snatching her from an alley.
01:54Barb watches the two of them through the cabin window.
01:57She writes a message on the window glass for the girl to see,

02:45She heads back to the cabin.
02:46When she pushes against the basement door, it breaks open.
02:49Barb goes in and removes the tape from the kidnapped girl's mouth.
02:54But she needs something to get the cuffs off her.
02:56So Clara heads back upstairs.
02:58She goes there and turns on the water, clogging the sink.
03:02She puts out the fire that was burning.
03:04She tears down all the curtains from the windows.
03:07She soaks all the blankets.
03:09But as soon as she steps outside, a bullet hits her hand near the door.
03:14Clara had spotted her and started shooting.
03:16Barb somehow manages to escape and runs into the woods.
03:20When Clara and David return to the house, the entire place is flooded with water.
03:25The place was freezing.
03:26And after falling into the lake, David desperately needs a heat source to recover.
03:31On the other side, Barb reaches her pickup truck.
03:34She finds it disabled.
03:36Barb presses snow against her gunshot wound to ease the pain.
03:40Near the hole in the lake, Barb finds David's gun.
03:43But it only has one bullet left in it.
03:46Meanwhile, Clara and David are sitting in the car, trying to warm themselves up.
03:51David's condition is really bad.
03:53But Clara tells him to set everything up by the lake.
03:56She can't miss her appointment with a surgeon tomorrow morning, no matter what.
04:00The truth is, Clara is planning to perform surgery on that kidnapped girl right there on the lake.
04:06Because the lake's environment will be perfectly sterile,
04:09And the cops won't be able to investigate a crime scene that won't even exist tomorrow.
04:14Because Clara and David are going to torch or sink everything, sending it all to the bottom of the lake.
04:20Clara puts the kidnapped girl in the car and starts to leave.
04:23That's when David realizes his gun isn't with him.
04:27Clara slaps David across the face for this.
04:30She sends him to set everything up at the lake.
04:32Barb is watching David.
04:34After hearing Clara's car drive away, she goes into the cabin.
04:38But she sees that the kidnapped girl isn't there anymore.
04:41Inside the cabin, Clara finds some supplies she can use to stitch up her wound.
04:46Through immense pain, Clara stitches her own wound.
04:49David's car is parked outside the cabin.
04:52It's locked, but Barb grabs a hammer lying nearby and smashes the window to get inside.
04:58She tries to use the car radio to contact anyone nearby.
05:01With great difficulty, a man finally responds on the radio.
05:05Barb tells him, there's been a kidnapping of a girl.
05:09I need help.
05:10She tells him there's a cabin near Lake Hilda.
05:13But just then, David comes from outside and attacks Barb.
05:17Barb drives the hammer into David's leg.
05:19She points the gun at David.
05:21But David says, don't kill me.
05:24The truth is, he was doing all of this because his wife told him to.
05:28His wife is sick.
05:29That kidnapped girl has attempted suicide multiple times, and that's why they chose her.
05:34David says, I'm hypothermic.
05:37I was going to the hospital.
05:38I'm done helping my wife.
05:40David hands Barb her ring, which had accidentally fallen from her hand.
05:45So Barb tells him that if he's really not a bad man, then before going to the hospital,
05:50go to the police station and tell them everything.
05:52David says, I will.
05:54Before leaving, he also gives Barb extra bullets for the gun.
05:58But on the way, David runs into his wife, who angrily asks him where he's going.
06:03David says, I need help.
06:06His wife says that if he needed help, he should have come to her.
06:09She says, I'm your wife.

06:56In the present, Barb sets the pickup truck on fire so people will see the smoke and come this way.
07:02And that's exactly what happens.
07:04Two men arrive.
07:06Barb stops them.
07:07These were the same men who had talked to Barb on the radio.
07:10She tells them about the kidnappers.
07:12A couple has kidnapped a girl.
07:14But the man was injured so I sent him to the hospital.
07:17So the main threat is his wife.
07:20She has a rifle.
07:21But these men find Barb's story very suspicious.
07:25And Barb has a gun with her, which they notice.
07:28They say, give us that gun.
07:30We'll handle everything from here.
07:32Barb gives them the gun.
07:34The three of them head toward the cabin, where they see Clara sitting in the car.
07:38Both men grab their guns and approach the vehicle.

08:17She's saying, I don't want to die.
08:19Barb asks her what her name is.
08:21Her name is Leah.
08:23Clara says, my husband loved that name.
08:25If we'd had a daughter, we would have named her that.
08:29Barb starts telling the girl about her great-grandfather, how he got trapped in an extremely dangerous snowstorm.
08:35And it wasn't just any ordinary storm.
08:37He had no chance of survival.
08:40Hundreds of people died in that snowstorm.
08:42But Barb's great-grandfather didn't give up.
08:45He didn't stop.
08:46If he had stopped, he would have frozen to death right there in the storm.
08:50He kept going and he survived the storm.
08:52Barb says that if he had given up back then, she wouldn't be here today.
08:56I wouldn't even have been born.
08:58By telling all this, Barb is trying to make Leah understand that we don't know what's coming,
09:03but we should never quit.
09:04Just then, they hear Clara leaving from upstairs.
09:08Barb starts trying to free herself.
09:10She had a box that Clara had taken from her pocket and placed on a shelf above.
09:15So Barb keeps hitting the shelf with her shoe until the box falls down.
09:19Using the metal handle from this box, she unscrews the pole that her handcuffs are tied to.
09:25Barb pushes hard and lifts the pole slightly and she's free.
09:28But the basement door is locked from the outside.
09:31Barb tries to escape through the storm door.
09:34But as soon as she gets out, Clara spots her and locks her back inside.
09:38A while later, Clara takes Leah and Barb to the middle of the lake.
09:42They've set up a complete operating room here.
09:45Barb sees Clara's gunshot wound on her leg and tells her she needs to redress it because she's
09:50losing too much blood.
09:52But Clara doesn't listen.
09:53She tells Barb to take out a box from her supplies.
09:56It's a liver transplant box.
09:58That means Clara is going to remove Leah's liver.
10:01Barb tries to talk her out of this, but she won't listen.
10:05Clara holds Barb at gunpoint and makes her lay Leah down on the table.
10:09She has Barb taped down her shoulders, hips, and shins.
10:13But as soon as this is done, Clara shoots Barb.
10:16She tears off Leah's clothes and marks where the liver is.
10:19But just then Barb gets back up.
10:21She attacks Clara and stabs her with scissors.
10:25The two of them fight for a long time, and in the struggle, the tent catches fire.
10:29While fighting, they both end up outside the tent.
10:32Both of them rush toward a gun lying ahead.
10:35During the struggle, Clara's gun goes off into the snow.
10:39When she picks up the gun and fires at Barb, the gun is empty.
10:43So Clara attacks Barb with the back of the gun.
10:46And here it's revealed to us that the bullet Clara fired at Barb earlier got stuck in the
10:50box that was in Barb's jacket pocket.
10:52Meanwhile, the tent is about to be consumed by flames.
10:56But Leah frees herself and escapes from the fire.
10:59Barb ties one end of her handcuff to Clara's leg and drags her into the ice hole with her.
11:04Both of them die in the water.
11:06As Barb is dying, she scatters her husband's ashes in the lake.
11:11Above, the girl Leah has survived all of this.
