00:00U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has urged Hamas to disarm during his visit to Israel.
00:05I'd like to start with you, Shabbos.
00:06Does Hamas need to disarm for this ceasefire to move forward?
00:10Well, obviously, one of the preconditions of the ceasefire is Hamas disarming.
00:15In fact, the 20-point peace plan requires Hamas to disarm.
00:18The problem is not Israel.
00:19The problem, as always, is Hamas.
00:21Muhammad Nazal just four days ago said that Hamas will not disarm.
00:25They said they will continue to maintain control over Gaza security.
00:28He said the ceasefire is only a temporary hudna, a pause to rebuild, strength to regain some breathing room.
00:35The people of Gaza clearly don't want Hamas in power, which is why Hamas is trying to kill any innocent man, woman, and child that allies themselves against Hamas in Gaza.
00:44Oddly enough, you don't hear any of the campus activists or the cultural elites who've been calling Israel's actions a genocide,
00:50who've been calling for the freeing of Palestine, who've actually been upset with Hamas killing innocent Gazan civilians.
00:55So Hamas must disarm.
00:56It's also worth remembering Hamas has been in violation of the ceasefire the minute they signed it by not releasing all of the hostages.
01:03Currently, the bodies of two Americans, Itai Chen and Omer Nutra, are still being held hostage by Hamas in Gaza, another direct violation of the ceasefire.
