00:00If we assume that progress is being made, as we've said already, there were three issues, there were four issues, there's now just one.
00:10You say that Hamas is under a lot of pressure, but do you think the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is also under a lot of pressure?
00:17Because there are some people in Washington who view Israel as being somewhat obstructive to reaching an agreement.
00:26Do you think Washington does view the Israeli delegation somewhat in that way?
00:31Well, I think there is a common denominator between the Israeli position and the American position that both of us understand that in the end of the day, Hamas should not be able to rule Gaza and should not be able to have a military force in Gaza that can be used in order to carry out terror attacks against Israel.
00:48This is a common view from both the Israelis and the Americans.
00:52And this is extremely important because we understand that even if this is not going to be accomplished on the first part of the negotiations and the first part of the deal, it has to be accomplished in the second one.
01:03Because one major issue is going to be the seriousness of the negotiations about the second step.
01:09And the Americans are guaranteeing Hamas that if the negotiations are going to be serious, then they are going to guarantee that the ceasefire is going to be extended beyond the 60 days.
