00:13The news came after officials in the ruling Chinese Communist Party
00:17concluded four days of high-level talks in Beijing and released plans for the next five years.

00:32The new plans feature no major policy shifts for Beijing,
00:35despite ongoing global trade instabilities.

00:45Five-year plans are a Soviet-style central planning method,
00:48which China still relies on heavily, to map out priorities and sort funding.
00:53These plenum meetings are also used as a way to rally the party's top members
00:57around President Xi's leadership.
