00:00who will conquer this earth and this hell along with the gods which skilled man choose the path
00:09of religion as a beautiful as a flower who will win buddha gives a very strange answer
00:17very unique the disciple will win
00:20not a warrior and the first condition of being a disciple is that he has accepted his defeat
00:34he has said that i have not been able to know till now i have walked a lot but have not reached
00:43i have thought a lot but have not understood i have heard a lot but have not been able to hear
00:57i have seen a lot but it was an illusion because
01:04the observer was asleep the one who has lost and put his head at the feet of the guru and said that
01:19i do not know anything the one who put all his knowledge along with his head at the feet of the
01:29guru guru means master he is skilled in learning he is successful in learning he has got the ability
01:41to learn the one who has know that i do not know he is the disciple it is difficult because the ego says
01:54that i do not know anything more i may not know completely but i know a little i may not know everything but i have know a lot
02:14a great scholar came to buddha very famous sariputra
02:20he was a very knowledgeable he knew all the vedas by heart
02:31he himself had a few thousand disciples
02:36not disciple but student
02:40but he thought that they were disciples because he thought that he was learned man
02:50when he came to buddha and raised many questions
02:58buddha said all these questions are of scholarship
03:04these questions have arising from the scriptures
03:09they are not arising within you
03:11these questions are borrowed
03:24you have read a book
03:25questions have arise from book
03:31if you had not read this book
03:33these questions would not have arising
03:35if you had read other books other questions would have arising
03:41these questions do not come from
03:45within your life
03:48they do not arise from your inner self
03:51they are not existential they are intellectual
04:00if sariputra had been only a scholar
04:04he would have gone away angrily
04:08he lowered his eyes he thought he saw how much truth there was in what buddha was saying
04:21and he found truth he put his head at his feet
04:27at buddha's feet he said that i take back my questions
04:40you are right hey lord you are right
04:46these questions are not mean
04:48till now i considered them mine
04:55and when the questions itself is not mine
04:59then how will the answer be mine
05:04when this question itself has not arising from the innermost being
05:12then how will the answer reach the innermost being
05:18one is a curiosity which is like an inch of the intellect
05:28like curiosity it is asked while walking no life is at stake
05:35and there is another curiosity which we have called a mumuksham
05:41life is at stake this is not a questions that can be asked while walking
05:47the whole way of life will depend on its answer
05:55its answer will depend on whether i live or not
06:01its answer will depend on whether life is worth living or is useless
06:07where everything is at stake
06:13sariputra said now i will ask only when the questions of my innermost being comes
06:23free me from the scriptures lord hey lord free me from the scriptures buddha said you have
06:32understood you have become a free
06:38the scriptures are not holding you
06:42you were the one holding you you have understood
06:46you have let go buddha accepted scriptures as his disciple
06:52it is said that sariputra never asked any questions again
07:00for many years and one day buddha asked sariputra why don't you ask why don't you ask
07:11when he came you had a come with big questions those questions were taken away from you
07:24you had said now when my questions arise then i will ask you do not ask
07:30yes sariputra said it is surprising there were many questions of others i had got many answers too
07:43still i could not get the answer because it was not my question there was no hearing
07:51of the soul no thrift like giving water to a person who is not thrifty
08:04he may omit he will not be satisfied then i left them and was surprised the question did not arise
08:16and the answer was found whoever starts even a little bite of going inside himself his questions keep
08:29on disappearing standing in the innermost being the answer arise from where the question should arise
08:39every essential questions has it answer within itself the question is the seed from that seed
08:56sprouts a sprout answer appears you feel the problem of your life as a problem because you have
09:07you have borrowed that the problem someone else has told you something and you have started following
09:18someone else advice someone else has told you that you are a very thirsty look for water
