The Story of Edge of Memories Unfolds in a New Trailer. NACON and Midgar Studio reveal a brand-new story trailer for the French-made JRPG Edge of Memories, shedding light on key aspects of the game’s universe, characters, and themes. Edge of Memories will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) in 2026.
With its artistic style inspired by French animation, combined with Japanese anime aesthetics and a compelling narrative crafted in collaboration with writer Sawako Natori (NieR), Edge of Memories pays tribute to the JRPG genre while exploring universal themes: the exodus of peoples, a world plagued by disease, the search for origins, and the need to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
The world of Heryon has long been ravaged by the Corrosion, a blight that transforms both wildlife and humans into monstrosities. On the continent of Avaris, nomadic people once spared from this horror now face extinction. Eline, a young wandering Soul Whisperer, travels across the wild lands to aid suffering, but her fate changes drastically when she discovers within herself a power born of the Corrosion. This gift allows her to transform into the Black Beast, unleashing devastating force and chaining together ruthless executions against her enemies.
Joined by Ysoris, her unlikely mentor, and Kanta, a shaman-prince from a lost tribe, the heroes embark on a perilous journey to save a dying world, confront formidable threats, and uncover the truth behind the blight.
Their epic odyssey will take them across Avaris, where sinister foes await: Ziegler, a mysterious figure wielding power also tied to the Corrosion, and the Apex, a divine emissary claiming to see both the future and the past. They will also face the Sanctorium, a merciless religious and magical order whose authority dominates Avaris. Obsessed with cruel experiments on the Corrosion, they exploit human test subjects desperate to escape their people’s despair.
