00:22I think it's well worth the ticket

00:29Is written by a man whose name is not his own
00:34He starts up by lying about his name
00:39Nicholas So
00:40And before he wrote books
00:43He worked in secret service in the UK
00:48So he knows a thing or two about lying
00:50That's very interesting, I never knew that
00:52That makes a lot of sense
00:54I'm going to tell Ian's story
00:56Because I've heard it
00:57I know why he wanted to be involved
01:00He's worked with Bill Condon
01:03Quite a few times, very, very successfully
01:06And loves working with him
01:08And Bill called him up and said
01:11Ian, I've got a film that I'd like you to do
01:14And Ian said, yes, I'll be in it
01:16I don't need to read the script
01:18Then after that, he did read the script
01:22And it was a page turner
01:25And he thought, wow, I'm really lucky here
01:28Not only have I said yes without reading the script
01:31But it turns out it's a great script
01:34Am I right?
01:35Absolutely
01:38And all I could add to that
01:40Was when I'd finished reading it
01:41I said, but who's going to play Betty?
01:43Yes
01:44And he said, well, I'm hoping
01:46It will be Helen
01:50And I thought for about half a second
01:53And said that would be, from every single aspect, perfect
01:57And now why did I say yes?
02:00You said yes because you'd enjoyed Gods and Monsters
02:05Which is Bill's big calling card as a director and screenplay
02:09Adaptation for which he won the Oscar
02:11And like many other people, actors who've seen his movies
02:15Thought, hmm, that would be good to be in one of those
02:18And you thought it'd be nice to catch up with me
02:22And see how things were going
02:25There you go
02:26And it turned out to be a good decision on both our parts
