At least two people killed after a house collapsed in Casablanca
Residents of Casablanca awoke on Wednesday to tragic news of a house collapse in the “Old Medina,” resulting in the deaths of two people and ongoing efforts to rescue a third individual.

00:00At least two people died and several others injured after a house collapse on Wednesday in the old Medina in Casablanca, according to Moroccan authorities.
00:10Local sources reported that the residential building, located in the heart of Morocco's economic capital and home to several families, crumbled early in the morning.
00:19I heard a loud noise as I was going downstairs.
00:22A moment later, I told my wife, we are not going back to sleep. Let's go out right now.
00:26And just then, the wall collapsed. It even fell partly on my head.
00:31I heard a loud noise around five in the morning. When I went out, I found the house had collapsed.
00:36I started shouting for the children to get out, for anyone still inside the house to come out.
00:41Among the casualties were an elderly man and his wife, who lived on the upper floor and were unable to escape before the structure collapsed.
00:49Civil protection teams have reportedly been working tirelessly to save a 26-year-old man trapped beneath the rubble.
00:55Rescue operations continue as authorities strive to determine the full scope of the damage.
