00:00What is a pro forma invoice? Ever seen the term pro forma invoice and wondered what it means?
00:07A pro forma invoice is a preliminary bill. Unlike a normal invoice, it's sent before the goods or
00:13services are delivered. It shows the buyer an estimate of costs so they know the price in
00:19advance. Example of pro forma invoice, imagine you want to import 50 mobile phones from another
00:25country. The seller sends you a pro forma invoice showing price per phone equals $100, quantity equals
00:3450, shipping equals $200, total estimate equals $5,200. This way, you know exactly how much you'll
00:44need to pay. So remember, a pro forma invoice is just a quotation in invoice format. It's not a final
00:52bill, but a promise of what the final cost will look like.
