00:09We are sitting on the property line that was tragically destroyed in the Pacific Palisades Fire.
00:30I would say for the last eight months, my life's goal, purpose, besides obviously being a father and a husband, is getting accountability for the gross criminal negligence that burned down my house.
00:45It started the day of the fire, because I was here until I saw the flames coming onto my street, and I knew things had gone so wrong, because I never saw a fire truck.
00:58I never saw a helicopter. I lived next door to a, what I now know, empty water reservoir.
01:05I saw that day one. It wasn't like it took me a month to think about what happened. I felt everything going wrong the day of.
01:15I saw the response that was not there. So it's been just from that day on. It didn't like happen at a later point where I was like, oh my God, what happened?
01:28I was like, this, this shouldn't have happened. I mean, obviously we lost our community.
01:33The biggest problem outside of the Palisades, why people have no empathy or sympathy for the Palisades burning down, which is obviously insane to begin with, is this idea that it's all just rich people.
01:58And it's so far from the truth, the Palisades I grew up with. We're just hardworking American, normal jobs. That's the community I fight for.
02:10I feel like obviously everyone processes trauma differently. I've tried to really channel all of my emotional energy into, as we said, accountability and just, just making it so clear this was preventable.
02:26This shouldn't have happened. Whereas my wife Heidi, she obviously cries a lot more. I only find myself crying, you know, when I'll be like tucking my sons in. I still try to like keep it together.
02:40I just think it's so unfortunate and terrible that we live in a country that
03:01people would rather not have answers for something like this when it affects all taxpaying American citizens. Like, I don't know how accurate it is, but according to my research, which again, who knows, but 71% of the Palisades voted for Kamala Harris.
03:20So I'm not over here, like in this like Republican community, that's like trying to go after Newsome and Karen Bass.
03:30All I'm doing is conveying what happened to victims. And if Newsome was a Republican, I would be doing the exact same thing. My lens is really clear. It is about my town that burned down. My focus is so clear that it's not political.
03:48I just believe we live in a world where everyone's on this gang, gang, my team versus this team that you can't hurt your team by actually investigating negligence because then you give the other team and it's like, I'm not, I don't play in that world.
04:05I play in just the facts that I don't have a house anymore because the people who are in charge failed us. You know, obviously I see how in this political climate, how people want to make this
04:17something it's something it's not, but I, again, I don't care what people do. I know what I'm doing. I'm really just, just fighting for accountability. And just so I can say once, whatever it turns into, I can say to my kids, I did my best.
04:32I just want to be able to tell my sons when they grew up and where they talk about their house had burned down and be like the town that I thought they would grow up in. I'd be like, well, I did my 110% best.
04:44When I found out my wife was pregnant, there was a little hummingbird eggs at our front door. And so I started Googling. It's all important symbolism. I'm like, oh yes, it's a sign. This is great. So then I got really into feeding those hummingbirds slowly, but surely I needed more feeders because there are always fighting talking a thousand hummingbirds.
05:05So it was like a hummingbird sanctuary to the point. This is how much I didn't believe my house was going to burn down. Instead of packing up, I was changing my feeders the day our house was going to burn down.
05:17I was putting in fresh nectar. So immediately after when there's still debris here, I started getting the feeders out to bring the hummingbirds back. Hummingbirds could go extinct. And for me, they're just a symbol of, you know, survival.
05:32My goal at the end of the day is knowing, at least in my state, towns will not just burn down.
05:54And I truly believe that after all said and done, all the investigations, my life's purpose now, currently, is that this idea that we can't live in California without being burnt out and having your community burned down, like that is not a thing.
06:15So I think that would be the success I am striving for, because this shouldn't happen to people, especially like my parents, people like my dad, who this was their lives that were stolen from them.
06:30I know I can sell my crystals, get on another reality show, hustle back out of this. For people that are 80 plus years old, this is it. This is it. This is like, this is it.

06:59For people who got carried away in other economic problems, this is not a revelation that scenario I account before.
