00:00Charles Robinson, Yahoo Sports, here on 105.3 The Fan.
00:19There's a headline here.
00:21I know you had a conversation with Andrew Siciliano, Frank Schwab,
00:24trading for Crosby and re-signing Pickens would absolve Jerry Jones.
00:28Is that your opinion?
00:30Yes.
00:31I mean, if that happened, absolutely.
00:33Yeah, really.
00:34To me, in the conversation we really had, and I kind of put it to them,
00:38I said, look, Pickens has, I mean, it's worked.
00:44Like, I was very skeptical of it.
00:46I knew how Pittsburgh felt about him, you know,
00:49and I thought, man, this could be a disaster.
00:52But I've been wrong.
00:54You know, he's Fitz.
00:55He's played far.
00:58I think he's exceeded what I thought he could do in this, you know,
01:01early stage with the Cowboys.
01:02I think, you know, from everything I've understood,
01:07I haven't heard anything, you know, behind the scenes.
01:10And I'm telling you, like, in Pittsburgh, that's all you heard about constantly
01:14was, you know, how hard he was to manage, what meeting he wasn't showing up for,
01:18you know, whatever.
01:19And I have not heard that.
01:21And so I think now that Pickens clearly is a viable piece and he's worked in your system
01:28and he clicks with your quarterback, I think if you are able to retain him in the role
01:34and how he's flourished, and I've brought it up, you know, the T. Higgins-level deal
01:40is really what people think that negotiation starts at.
01:43Four for 115?
01:46Four and 115, but it's really a two and 59.
01:49Okay, that's really what the deal is.
01:51I mean, it's part of the upside of that deal is the flexibility of we can get out of this
01:57after two.
01:58You know, I think it's like a seven, seven and a half million dollar cap hit.
02:01Ultimately, if the Bengals were able to get out of it, which to me, I think fits with Pickens.
02:06I mean, okay, you've performed.
02:08We're going to pay you, but, you know, the commitment here is still going to be in our
02:13favor.
02:14If this doesn't work out after two years, we're able to move on from this.
02:18And again, Max Crosby, we're dreamcasting here, but if you're able to retain Pickens
02:25and bring Max Crosby in on the deal that he just did, which is very equitable to you
02:30because they eat all the accelerated money once he gets traded.
