The Oxford Union president-elect has been ousted after losing a vote of no confidence in a landslide.George Abaronye, 20, a student at Oxford University, was removed as head of the prestigious debating society following backlash over "inappropriate" remarks that appeared to celebrate the fatal shooting of political commentator Charlie Kirk.

00:13which appeared to celebrate the fatal shooting of political commentator Charlie Kirk.
00:17The vote took place after Aberogne submitted a motion of no confidence in himself
00:21in an attempt to claim accountability.
00:24The 20-year-old has claimed the vote was compromised by election officials mishandling proxy votes,
00:29leading to voting figures which showed over 1,200 members voted to remove him,
00:33while only 501 supported him.
00:36He denies any misconduct by his campaign team and insists he has majority student support.
