00:00Clinical waste is a hazardous material. It can come in many forms but it has to be processed,
00:09treated, stored, transported properly and with great diligence at all times because there are
00:17so many opportunities for this to go wrong. In August 2024 when this application first
00:24came on the radar, Hickson Parish Council hosted a special meeting, packed out the village hall here
00:33and people who came to that raised some very very good information and concerns about this
00:41and from that moment on it's been a question of responding to any new information that comes
00:49forward. I don't think anybody in the UK wants a clinical waste incinerator next to their
00:54primary school so it doesn't take a genius to work out why there's hazardous waste substances
01:01and emissions falling over the children's heads 24-7, seven days a week. It's not right,
01:09it's not the right location and they should never have got this far in the planning process.
01:15It's really important that local residents get involved because the applicant stated that there
01:21wasn't enough local concern compared to the need for hazardous waste incinerator in the area and I
01:27think that is simply not true. As you could see hundreds turned out for the walk, you can see the
01:32media coverage that we've had and the amount of people that turned up as well to the committee meeting.
01:37There is a strong local concern about this and that can't be denied.
