Officials in the Trump administration are considering a plan to sell off the government-held student loan debts to private investors, a move that would absolutely make the student loan debt crisis exponentially worse. If this plan becomes a reality, it will mean that private investors would control the interest rates, the repayment schedules, and the punishments for people who are unable to pay.
