00:00Today we are pond hopping, but we are only allowed to throw topwater lures.
00:05Topwater fishing is by far the most exciting way to catch a bass. We hit a ton of ponds
00:11throughout the day and Tara also ended up catching her PV bass. The whole day was non-stop
00:17topwater blow-up action, so make sure you stick around till the end of the video.
00:21The topwater only day of fishing in a pond. I'm excited about it. We're about to get it started.
00:30I got my kicking their bass TV X lose baitcaster combo. If you guys want to check out any of the
00:35kicking their bass combos or even spinning combos, you can check them out. Kickingtheirbass.com
00:40will be linked down below. I have my mock patroller on. If you guys want to get a discount on any of
00:45the mock baits, I'll pop that up on the screen. Link can be down below. And I have this patroller
00:50in chrome. It's a very sunny day today. And on the sunny days, I like to use chrome. When it's
00:56a little cloudy, I like to use more of a white color. So I think this is going to end up being
01:00perfect. So the one thing about the pond that we're at today, we've been catching a lot of fish
01:04out of this little small pond recently, but there's a lot of stuff on top of the water. I'm hoping that's
01:08not going to give us a problem knowing that we're using treble hooks on this, but let's go ahead and
01:13get started and see what we can do today. Hopefully we'll end up catching some giants on topwater.
01:16I feel like this is going to be a process. A lot of ponds, a lot of pond hopping.
01:23Just seeing what we can do. I think we're going to be making a lot of casts today.
01:28But let's go ahead and get into it.
01:34This shady corner looks so good for one to be sitting.
01:46I don't know if you guys noticed, but along the banks, you got all this stuff here. So the last
01:58couple of days, it has rained a ton and it just flooded. And you can tell that's where the water
02:02was sitting last night. It's kind of crazy that this pond got low already.
02:06That shade corner over there looks money. Before we get deeper into this video, only 27% of y'all
02:17watching these videos are actually subscribed. So if you could take the time, hit the subscribe
02:22button. It really helps the channel. I'd appreciate it.
02:25Oh my gosh, that was a massive boil. He was either already up on the bank or he was coming up to try
02:54to eat my bait. Either he was on the bank and I spooked him or that's what he was doing. I'm not
02:58sure. That was a big boil though. That was not a small fish. I think I walked up on him to be honest
03:04with you. That was bad timing. Horrible timing. That's something we're going to have to pay attention
03:09to today, especially with the water level changing in the ponds from the last few days. That water
03:16came up. Some of these bass might be super ultra shallow and we just missed a little opportunity
03:23there, but that's okay. That's our first sign of life. And as I said that there was a little blow
03:27up out here. There's a little spot right here behind me too. I just came up on the bank right here.
03:36All right guys, nothing quite yet, but we're going to keep on moving. Let's get to another pond.
03:40All right boys out here at pond number two. And this is a place that I've hit before about four or five
03:46years ago. And I haven't been here since. So that's pretty exciting. I think the last time I freaking
03:52hit this place, I was like at a hundred thousand subscribers on YouTube. Now we're about at 800,
03:57which is terrible. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. That bite was insane. He actually knocked my bait out of
04:06the water. I just wasn't looking. Oh, it came off. It came off. What are we doing? What are we doing?
04:14No way. What is going on? I don't think he's going to hit it again. What in the world?
04:22That seemed like a decent one too, didn't it? That seemed like a two and a half pounder,
04:25if not three pounds. Well, that's a good sign guys. Let's, let's get it working here.
04:30That honestly just spooked me. That was my mistake. So pretty much what happened is my bait,
04:36he hit my bait and I wasn't paying attention to it. I was looking somewhere different and my bait just
04:41went flying in the air and I hooked set. I didn't, I wasn't watching in that next cast. I don't know
04:46how I missed them. That was just, I have no clue. I don't know. Maybe that's a, that's a good sign.
04:51That was first cast, wasn't it? Yeah. That's a great sign. Oh, I'm excited about that. That just
04:56got me fired up. I just wish we would have caught that fish. Maybe, maybe we'll come back and bite you
05:02in a sec right there. That fish was aggressive too. It wasn't like he was just buying it. You know,
05:10that was a good blow up. Start walking down this bank, a little parallel action.
05:20One thing we got to think about too, that fish was out in the middle.
05:23Oh, Oh, Oh, that's a nice one. I think he came off. I saw him. That was like a four or five
05:34pounder. What is going on? I saw the whole side. I saw the whole side of that fish's body. All these
05:40fish might be giant in here. Now it's been so long since I've fished it. I have had the worst luck
05:45guys the last two weeks on losing big fish. I don't understand, but I will say is both his bites
05:51were out in the middle. He swirled on it at first and then he hit it. It wasn't even a
05:54crazy blow up, but I could see the whole side of that fish. That was every bit of a four or five
05:58pounder.
06:12There. That was a little one. Not like the last two, but I'll take any bites here now. Come on.
06:18Get it started. Get the skunk off. We're missing those two fish. We just need something to put us
06:23on board here. Oh, did you miss him? What is going on?
06:30Oh my gosh. Huge boil on the bank. That had to have been a carp. If that wasn't a carp,
06:44that was literally a 15 pound bass, dude. Massive frickin' swirl.
06:59I got one. Ah, it feels pretty good. Feels pretty good. It's monstrous, ain't it?
07:06Oh my gosh. This might be your PB. How big is this fish? Holy crap, I can't tell. He's swirling
07:13right there. Be careful with him. Keep that pressure. You're doing good.
07:18Oh my God. Dude, that's... Tara, that's your PB. Tara, that's your PB. It's a hunchback,
07:25too. It's a crazy bass. Oh my gosh, Tara. Tara, I don't know if you understand. This
07:39is a hunchback, the biggest hunchback bass I've ever seen. Oh my gosh. That is... Look
07:44at the mouth on that thing. Oh my gosh. Look at this. Tara, that's a mega. I got two hands
07:52gripping this puppy. Look at the top of his head again. Oh my gosh. I cannot believe Tara
07:58just covered PB. He's a hunchback, too, which is so odd. I've never seen a bass of this caliber
08:04that's a hunchback. All right, Tara's coming back. This fish has been a pain, man. He's
08:10strong. He's ready to swim. Six and a half. Oh, 6.56. 6.56, girl.
08:20That's my PB. That is a freaking monster. Six and a half pounder pushing seven. It's
08:26Tara's PB. That is awesome. I've never seen a bass that big. See how he's a hunchback?
08:32His back's like kind of hunched over. He's a thick boy. Wiggle his tail.
08:41There you go. That's a beast. Straight beast. Good job, girl. That was awesome. First fish of
08:49the day is your PB. That's why I miss this fish. I just wanted yours to be the PB first
08:56fish. Wow. Well, guys, let's get back in here and keep fishing. That's all we can do from
09:01here. I'm worn out. I got splashed. Did you see that when I grabbed the fish? And when
09:06you were gone grabbing the scale, Tara, guys, you guys didn't even see it because my battery
09:10died. I dropped the fish and I bear hugged it. Yeah, there was nothing allowing that bass
09:15to get in the water. I just like, I literally went like this and like sat my whole body on
09:20them. All right, guys, let's go ahead and get back in here and see what else we can catch.
09:23We know there's some giants in here and hopefully we can get us another one. I'm not even asking
09:29for much more than that right there, but wow. What a fish. All right, guys, my adrenaline's
09:35pumping so dang hard. Oh, did you see that blow up in the, in the distance? Look at their, their
09:40schooling, Tara. They're schooling. Yeah. Oh, I barely made it. Hopefully they'll eat
09:47it. They're just schooling over there, guys. Let's see if we can get them to come up. Oh,
09:52they're schooling on that bank. I just don't know if I can make that cast. Patroller's a
09:56little light. Tara, look at them. Make a good whip over there. Oh, I made it, but I'm to the
10:03left 10 foot. I love how I made it on the bank. I just didn't make that most accurate. Look,
10:09you see them. They're still going, Tara. Yep. There we go. I'm in it. I'm in it. That's
10:17it, Tara. My heart stopped. Gosh, guys, they are hitting this patroller. They're just not
10:28committing. He totally grabbed onto it. He just didn't eat it all the way. Wow. Back to
10:36what I was saying. My adrenaline pumping so dang hard right now, just over her fish.
10:42It's hard for me to even focus up with what I'm doing right now.
10:52Oh, ate me right away. A little tiny one. Nothing big, but something's starting me off
11:00here. A little tiny dude. Ain't that something? You got these big old monstrous fish in here,
11:12and then you got these little tiny guys. All right, buddy, calm down. He's hooked the worst
11:17way. These are the ones you got to be careful with. I'm going to just grab you by your mouth.
11:21Okay, stop. I got to get you off, buddy. I know. Well, there's my first fish. Almost the
11:26size of Tara's, you know? Pretty close. Pretty guy, though. Beautiful. He's really healthy.
11:30Super fat. There we go. I'm finally on board. Maybe I'll stop missing fish now. Maybe that
11:37was my little breaking point. Now I can start hooking these bass and keeping them on.
11:46What? What? Boys, one just blew up inside of that pipe. I literally heard it. I wish I had a frog.
11:55I could skip a frog way up under that pipe. This thing is like, one that's got grass at the end
12:01of it here. Look at that. See? I literally heard a bass blow up inside of that thing, like deep.
12:08That's pretty crazy.
12:13This is the bank that they were schooling on earlier, guys. I was hoping. Oh, yep. Big boil
12:17to the left. Is he coming over to my bait? I don't want to come in.
12:21Oh, that's a huge carp. I see him. Monster carp. Talking like 40 pounder. He's about right
12:35here. That's all carp down this bank. Maybe it wasn't. I don't know. I want to say there's
12:42bass that were off the bank eating that. There's a carp right there where I'm at.
12:46Oh my gosh. That was a carp. That was a carp. That's a good way to mess up your bait is catching
12:59one of those things. That was crazy. There's another carp.
13:04Even though I knew that's a carp. It just gets me every time. Seeing something like that
13:21boil under your bait is insane. It just makes waves around your bait. There we go. We'll turn
13:31that one again. Oh, it came off. That was no bigger than the last one I caught. So crazy how
13:39there can be bass that are that small and then you catch some so big. That tells me a lot about
13:46this pond though. Usually when you're catching some that big and then you catch some that small,
13:51there's usually not many fish in between. What I mean by that is most of the fish in this pond are
13:57either going to be super big like how taras were or they're going to be really small like how mine
14:01was. That's usually how a lot of these places lay out. It can be caused by, you know, food and not
14:09having as much food and all the big ones are eating everything up or all the small ones are eating
14:12everything up. You know, that can kind of cause there to not be any medium-sized fish in this pond.
14:18So guys, this pond connects the one where you're just fishing. It's a little tiny thing. It's just
14:25really a little puddle. There's a boil. It might've been a turtle. Doesn't mean there's no fish in
14:28here though. I think there'd be a couple. All right, we're going to go get some water and then
14:38we are going to hit another spot. I have high hopes. I think we're about to slam today, guys.
14:42We're not going to have a ton of opportunities, but I think we'll have enough to get something
14:46crazy going. Guys, I have not fished this pond in my whole career. Oh, there's a boil over there.
14:52Could have been a turtle or a carp. I have never been to this pond, like ever. As you guys can
14:57tell, like just super blue water. It's kind of odd, but let's try it, man. I'm down to try whatever
15:05today after that. All we need is a bite to tell us what we need to know. Oh, this little canal.
15:12Oh my gosh. That looks so good. There's a fish. There should be one in this. Oh, there we go.
15:19We got one. Not a big one, but that is a top water bass. And we know there's bass in this pond.
15:26Not a big one. He's a fish. I was about to say that spot looked too good for there not to be a
15:33fish in if there is fish in here. He ate it. There we go. Not a big one, but it's the sign that we need
15:40to know. There's bass in here. Let's throw another cast in this little canal. Oh, not a tree. How
15:48did I not? Oh, massive boil. Dude, that was a huge blowup. Look at this, guys. I don't know if you see
15:54that. Huge blowup. I had a leaf on here, so I think it might have just spooked him. Hold on, man. If that
16:00was a bass, that was a good one. Maybe I just got the unlucky draw there and caught the small one.
16:07Definitely spooked off whatever that was. That was either a big bass or it might have been a cart.
16:11Or it could have just been a decent bass in super shallow water.
16:17Oh, there we go. Another little tiny one.
16:20Hopefully that's not all that lives in here. Probably, though. Not going to spend much time
16:28at this pond. Good to know, though. We even threw these small ones. Then again, that pond where
16:33she caught the big one, you know. I caught the small ones like this. There's nowhere for these
16:38fish to hide in this pond, guys. The bites that I've had are in obvious shade lines. All right,
16:43guys. Let's get out of here. I'm just not feeling it. The fish that we saw just weren't big. Let's go
16:48ahead and hit somewhere else. All right, guys. Pound number four or five, whatever we're at.
16:53Never been to this one, too. Kind of got blue water like the last one. Not as, like, toxic looking.
17:01Oh, my God. That blow up was crazy. This is just the day of the Twinkie bass for Noah, I guess. I don't...
17:09It's usually like I'll catch one of these a video, if that. But today, I mean, we're trying new spots.
17:15And to be fair, that's a fat bass for the size of them. That blow up was pretty cool.
17:22All right, let's keep her going. Can't be discouraged by that. I mean, literally think
17:26about it, guys. That pond, the terracotta PBN, the fish that I caught were literally that same size.
17:32It's like you just never can count it out, you know. There's a huge boil right there. That's
17:36what I'm saying. There's got to be some big fish mixed in. There we go. That's like a better one.
17:48That's like a better one? He's fighting better. Oh, yeah. Not a big one by any means, but better
17:55than those last ones. This one's at least a pound. Heck, yeah. No more half-pound curse, guys.
18:02We're working our way up the ranks, just like that other video. Caught a dang two-pounder,
18:06then I caught a three, then I caught a four, then I caught a five, then I caught a seven. So,
18:11maybe that'd be how today goes. We're just starting off at half a pound.
18:15Not a bad fish, though. Pretty, really healthy, actually. Great to see a healthy bass,
18:19especially in a pond like this. Thank you, buddy. Take a little body on him.
18:23Thank you, man. Oh, my God. This water is like a sauna, guys. It's like a sauna. I don't think I
18:31told you guys either. It is 90. I think it's like 93 degrees out right now. It's ridiculously hot.
18:36Like, I'm surprised these fish are buying top waters this well. They haven't had that consistent
18:4290-degree weather, so that's probably why. We'll try it for a little bit. If it's just all small ones,
18:46we'll just keep moving. I can't complain with catching fish, man, especially on a 90-degree
18:50day on top water. Can't complain at all. All the bites I get are fun. Maybe we'll get an
18:55occasional monster, just like Terry's. I'll take that any day.
19:05Let's say we just keep on moving, you know? I think that's going to be the productive way of
19:11us catching some big ones. Just keep moving. All right, guys. Heading to the next spot. This spot
19:15wasn't horrible. We had some bites pretty dang quick, but it's not the size we're
19:19looking for, so we're going to keep on hunting around.
19:35Whole ball of bait. Nothing chasing it, bro. There's a stack of bait right there.
19:41Stack of bait right here.
19:45There we go. Little tiny guy. What is up with me today, man? I'm catching the smallest bass
20:02that I've caught all year, all in one day. This is just crazy, man. I just don't understand
20:07how I keep getting smaller. I mean, like, what? That's just be one of those days for
20:15me. I ain't giving up, though, guys. I am not giving up. I'm going to keep trying.
20:19I'd say we just go to that other pond, too. All right, guys. Pond number 1,000. Been here
20:24one other time before. Absolutely smoked them. We weren't using top water, but this pond is
20:30super shallow, and I just think... Oh, it did boil right there. Imagine starting off.
20:37We've been waiting so patiently for a bite, guys. We've been to multiple spots, probably
20:41that I haven't even put in this video. It's kind of shut off for us ever since it rained. I'm ready
20:47to get it started here. Come on. I think we're going to have some luck. I'm feeling it. All right,
20:51guys. We're going to walk deeper into the forest. That's a nice one. Oh my god. I don't
21:14think he's that big, Tara. I can't tell. Why did he destroy that? I mean, it's not a bad
21:23one at all. It's like a two-pounder. Finally, Noah's in the two-pounder zone. Now we got
21:27a dog barking. That's just amazing. That blow-up was intense, Tara. That was the best blow-up
21:32all day. Heck yeah. Please, no. You're a good boy. See, I'm good with dogs. Oh, no. You're
21:41a good boy. No, no, no. You're a good boy. Good boy. Good boy. Boys, listen, there ain't
21:48much to show on this fish. I mean, it's a good two-pounder. Like, it's respectable. But
21:52listen, that blow-up. Best blow-up all day. And that was a beautiful best. Thank you so
21:58much, baby. Thank you. We're about to get something rolling, guys. I'm so excited about
22:01it. I think we're about to get cooking right out here. That bite was amazing. Old doggy
22:06just wanted to see him a fish. He's a good boy. He ain't going crazy. He didn't know
22:12what happened. I'm ready for like a sleigh fish. Today has been just a grind, guys. 90
22:17degrees all day. Straight, just hustle. I'm ready to see some good fish.
22:21Got one. Oh, that is a good one. Oh, I love seeing him blow up on this thing. No, he's
22:37there. He's running with me. Look how he ate that thing. Nice, girl. Two and a half pounder
22:42all day. At least two pounds. Yeah, that's a good one, girl. Good job. Look at how he ate
22:49that proper. That is... The blow-up was so pretty. That's something. That tells us a little something
22:54about what's about to go down, boys. We both talked about where we should go, and we're
22:58like, let's come out here. Yeah, nice little two-pounder. Yay. Good job, girl. Nice. The blow-up
23:05was so great. Oh, buddy. There we go. Thank you, sir. Both caught one. It's only been about
23:13five, ten minutes. All right, guys. More travel. Oh, look at that dang boil. The sad part is
23:29I've been casting down the bank like that. I wasn't going to walk on it. Look, there's
23:32another boil. All right, guys. We're going to get a big bite here in a moment. Feel it.
23:48Oh, my gosh. That bite was insane. Dude, let's get back in there, guys. I missed him completely.
23:56I thought he had it. He might bite it again in here. That was an insane bite. Come on,
24:03fish. I don't know if he was big or not, but it sure looked like it was big.
24:18This corner's about big. Oh! That bass just went all the way in the air, dude. Watch this.
24:23Watch this. Here we go. It's game over. That bass literally went two foot in the air.
24:30Come on. No way you're not going to hit it. He literally just skyrocketed. That was the
24:38weirdest thing I've ever seen. I don't know what he was doing. Could have been going after
24:41like a dragonfly or some sort of bug. I want him to do that to my bait, man. And then he's
24:45just not even going to look at this thing over here. Jumping three foot out of the water.
24:58There we go. Very soft bite. That one's small. Get him in real quick. Appreciate the bite, though.
25:06Oh, he ain't too small. He ain't as small as those ones I was catching all day. Come on,
25:12buddy. We want your daddy. We want old big boy. Can you give us the big boy?
25:20Thank you for biting, though. You were the softest, quietest bite all day long. I guess
25:24that deserves some sort of reward. Thank you, buddy.
25:27All these other blowups are like freaking intense, man. That one is just a little slurp.
25:35Gotta try on this corner again, man. That fish.
25:43It looks amazing.
25:57There we go. I'm back on the small crown.
26:07What is going on, dude? What is happening? How was our first fish of the day a freaking
26:13toad? And now it's just like, oh, caught more small fish today than I ever have. I swear.
26:19Like, I don't think I ever can recall a day where I've caught this many fish that are like not even a
26:24pound. Oh, no. I'll get you off. Oh, no. Oh, boy. That's the worst way. Lye bait? Lye bait fishing
26:32anybody? I think that's what we need to do. I'm just kidding, dude. Calm down. Hey, chill. Chill, chill, chill, chill, chill.
26:39You have to go catch your grandmama, man. Don't be wasting our time now. That's not the ones that I want
26:47in the tunnel.
26:48Oh, there's a big boil.
26:57You got one? He's off. How big was he? Oh, you got him.
27:06Oh, your line's stuck on the bank. It's a bluegill. It's a bluegill. That's funny.
27:14Ooh. I'm pretty sure that was a bluegill that just hit me.
27:26Those are definitely bluegill pair.
27:31Like, these gotta be bluegill. They have to be bluegill smoking this thing.
27:36There we go.
27:50I just, just when you think the bass can't get smaller, they get smaller.
27:54They get, they just get so freaking small. Small one.
27:57Sorry, buddy. Jeez, man. I've never caught so many. At least we're catching them. We're having a good time.
28:08Oh my God.
28:15Okay. Thank you. How's the little hunchback? It looked like your big one today. Yeah, but like literally a pound.
28:22If that was pretty cool blow up. It's so satisfying guys, when you hook a fish in like a pipe or something,
28:29just the sound of the blow up just echoes. I'm a satisfying little thing.
28:40Oh my gosh. That was a massive boil. See, that was a big one.
