00:00In Ecuador, the National Police repressed protesters in the community of San Miguel de Comun
00:04on the 28th day of the national strike against the elimination of the diesel subsidy.
00:08A protest was organized by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador-Conay
00:13not only against the elimination of the diesel subsidy,
00:16but to demand a reduction in the value-added tax from 15% to 12%,
00:20as well as stated attention to education and health.
00:24Meanwhile, government forces repressed the protests with tear gas and stones.
00:28To date, there have been three fatalities in the context of the national strike,
00:32two of whom were shot during the repression of the military forces
00:34and one died from inhalating tear gas.
