00:00ready now though green flags waving we got five lights on and it's lights down away we go that

00:06was a better start from lando norris but in the second phase max verstappen is away and clear and

00:11into turn one from norris on the inside swooping around the outside comes charles leclerc and

00:15norris gets just a big compromise behind verstappen that allows leclerc to get better traction and

00:20into second place and already oscar piastri is above and ahead of george russell in the mercedes

00:27lewis hamilton is also ahead of russell who had a poor start but verstappen getting the job done

00:32just like he did yesterday there's verstappen at the start pointing towards norris i think

00:38norris got an initial good getaway but verstappen in the second phase had him well covered yeah

00:43there's four meters between the grid slots and you can see leclerc with the grip with the confidence

00:49and the quicker line around the outside as as you pointed out at the time norris slightly tucked up

00:55underneath underneath the rear wing of max verstappen and that could well be a very pivotal

01:00moment in this grand prix there is the mercedes of kimmy antonelli on the left hand side of your

01:06screen and he's facing the wrong way he's been spun around there's debris down there at turn 15

01:12at least he's got going again and that's good to see while that's going on esteban ocon's been noted

01:17for a false start moving uh before the lights went out but kimmy antonelli running in the top seven

01:23now running plum last in this grand prix as we see a bit of contact there george russell uh going

01:31perhaps into the back of uh is it piastri is it piastri and there antonelli is stopped by the side of the

01:38track and i think antonelli has been hit by carlos sainz that is carlos sainz there and by what happened

01:46turn 15 sainz down the inside on antonelli who comes across him and well we saw that yesterday

01:51with piastri and hulkenberg didn't we if someone's coming through on the inside you get contact like

01:56that and it never ends well but i think antonelli there was just taking his racing line and did he

02:03have the right to the corner yeah copy saw that mate

02:06look like antonelli's corner first yeah yeah carlos wasn't uh far enough alongside um and unfortunately

02:18when you turn the car live out you cannot i mean he's he's he's quite a long way sorry guys there

02:25i'm totally just turning right there at the end yeah um he was reasoning alongside but i mean the

02:31mirrors are about as useful as a chocolate fire guard to be honest so in front max verstappen four

02:36seconds clear we haven't mentioned him for a while he's just having a very comfortable sunday afternoon

02:42track limits for norris i think that was spotted don't worry charl let every lap half a second

02:50and now we'll see that gap come down as lando norris gets ever closer to the ferrari here he

02:55comes here he comes leclerc pushing him towards the outside tries to switch back lando norris that's

03:01really nice on the exit he's alongside the ferrari he's trying to hang that out around the outside

03:07now we switch right-handed and go right again towards the left-hander at turn 15 leclerc defending

03:14for all his might norris is going to try to switch back again this time the ferrari gets a better exit

03:20and still stays in second as the drs is open now 21 kilometers an hour of extra speed now he's

03:26gaining he's gaining leclerc is going to force him wide this time around lando norris is wheel to

03:31wheel but leclerc can go deeper into the corner the switchback didn't work there norris tries to go

03:37around the outside looking good for him and leclerc absolutely closes the door slam shot says you ain't

03:43coming in the ferrari has been hanging on to that second place now under four tenths between

03:49leclerc and norris when the drs opens this time he'll get alongside surely he's going wheel to wheel

03:55he's got a head charles leclerc has to settle for third place as they go through turn 12 on lap 21

04:01he's finally lando norris got the job done i know you're busy we just had our third strike track limit

04:07turn 13 we think you were pushed off but we had a black and white flag so be careful i know i know

04:12i know i know i know yeah yeah we we have to tell you we know you don't want to hear it but just so

04:19you know i think is that message there he's going to do do it for himself isn't he but charles leclerc's

04:24not going to make that easy is he well he's not at all he's not making it easy in the slightest

04:29uh the switcheroo from lewis hamilton leclerc forces him wide they almost make contact the two ferraris

04:35scrapping away just like they were in the sprint race yesterday when hamilton did manage to get

04:40past on this occasion it hasn't happened yet but let's try the old switchback the pass between him

04:45and leclerc mercedes have played the do whatever he doesn't do and stayed on track as george russell

04:53doesn't stay on track down at turn 12 uh and yes that means then that um that piastri has he's got

05:01to babysit those tires a little bit towards the air but he'll he'll have track position

05:06as long as he doesn't bearman and sonoda now it's gonna be quite a tussle couldn't it

05:10ollie bearman has been on his tires for three laps and yuki sonoda before and he goes straight across

05:14there and spins around and somehow yuki sonoda manages to avoid him and that could have been both

05:21cars making contact and out of the race as we look at the replay now a lot of dirt

05:26yeah bearman will say look he changed direction uh he changed direction while i was in mid maneuver

05:33there's a little swerve to the left

05:35yeah so yeah there you go he moved under braking says ollie bearman he did he did and then he moved

05:46back again but it was too late by that stage yeah and ollie had to go on to the grass i wonder if the

05:50stewards will have a look at that sadly we didn't get to look at nika hulkenberg and ollie bearman

05:55as that carried on so you don't think lando was bluffing in any way shape or form about those

05:59tires no too hot

06:01and that's the state of the tires and that's the slide in slow motion that you can see and every

06:09time that happens it puts more heat through the tires and it yeah they're just starting to miss

06:14a little bit of traction and that will give norris all the confidence he's gone down the inside on

06:21charles leclerc i thought it might happen martin charles leclerc saw that coming felt that the

06:26switchback was the right way to defend but that's the first time we've seen lando have a go at charles

06:31leclerc down at turn one or up at turn one as we should say yeah charles leclerc wants in this race

06:38to take second place and is now trying to do it to make it count to the checkered flag norris down the

06:43inside and he takes that second place away from the struggling ferrari it's taken him a while

06:49he'd almost given up mentally he was told by the pit wall just hang on in there chances will come

06:55your way they have it's verstappen from norris once more it's called the into turn one but you're

07:02always going to run a little bit wide if you take that line on the way in and as always the front

07:08runners and this is the overtake look at that it was a little dummy and look how dirty his tires are

07:13or picking up the rubbish but that'll he'll struggle a little bit for a few corners with dirty tires like

07:19that he's come to this track where he's won three times before and he's about to make it a fourth

07:26grand prix win in austin for a seventh win in the united states while that's happening hamilton's

07:34struggling piastri's gaining verstappen crosses the line wins the u.s grand prix and it has been max

07:41attack and max success all weekend long for him lando norris finishes second charles de claire will

07:49be third can lewis hamilton hang on to fourth place he thinks he's got a puncture piastri is gaining

07:55on him we're on board now as charles de claire finishes third and picks up that podium look how wide

08:01hamilton went around the final corner he is gonna get to the line in front because the line comes

08:07at you quickly hamilton holds on to fourth oscar piastri finishes fifth george russell sixth yuki

08:14sunoda will come home seventh and the fight is going on for the final point scoring place

08:21what a weekend he's missed out on the fastest lap here so he he doesn't do the the double grand

08:27chalem as it were in the sprints at the grand prix which no drive has ever done but uh it was another

08:32very impressive weekend max extremely well done uh enjoy the celebrations i'll see you next year

08:47and uh yeah we can fly back mate well done max that was proper domination what to say um you you got

08:55everything this weekend yeah really uh really happy about that let's uh try keep this momentum up
