00:00Welcome to Tech Takedown. This week's episode on pitting the Google Pixel Buds Pro versus the
00:07Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. All right, Ryan, you've got one minute to talk about what you like about it,
00:12and it starts now. Well, I think the biggest factor for buying these is the AI features and
00:19the interpreter mode and the hands-free controls as well. This thing has some pretty awesome specs
00:25under it. Now, you know, you do have to have a Samsung Galaxy phone, but I think there's some
00:31great qualities with the AI and stuff. Like for me, I'm learning Japanese right now. It helps that
00:37having the interpreter, I can just talk to the earbuds and understand what I'm talking about
00:43in Japanese and ensure that I'm actually speaking correctly, right? Now, interpretation isn't going
00:49to be the best, but it still does the trick. And when it comes to controls, I can actually just say,
00:54hey, stop music out loud. Say I'm washing my hands or, you know, doing something with my hands,
01:01maybe even playing a game. I can say stop music or, you know, play music to continue playing stuff.
01:07So I don't even have to open my phone or even touch the earbuds at all, which is quite nice.
01:13We talk about AI features and talk about interpreter mode, but everyone has Google Translate on their
01:19phones. iPhone, Android, doesn't matter. So I can always use that to do my translations.
01:25In person, one person speaks, the other person waits, and it also will translate in real time.
01:30So I don't really need a pair of head buds to do that. I can just do it in my phone if I want to.
01:34I do like the feature where you can do it hands-free, but again, since the Pixel Buds Pro
01:40work with any Android phone, you can basically use Google Assistant to do pretty much the same thing.
01:46All right, so now it's my turn, Ryan. I'm going to talk to you about why I like the Google Pixel Buds Pro.
01:50So the first being the design. I just like it because, for starters, it's more discreet.
01:55You put it in your ear. Sometimes you can't see it. Nothing's hanging off your ear.
01:58It doesn't look like a Q-tip, just like the AirPods, like I talked about last time.
02:02So that's the reason why I like wearing it. It doesn't stand out as much, so it's very discreet in
02:07that way. Secondly, I do also like that there are more color options with this. You have only black and
02:13white. They're boring color options, but with the Pixel Buds Pro, you have a slew of options.
02:18I believe more than six. I got the blue ones, and they stand out, especially when we wear them.
02:23It's comfortable to wear, too. The case is also really compact. I like the snapping motions. But
02:27yeah, when I wear them, they're snug, come in different sizes, and the thing about most earbuds
02:33is that they look obnoxious. You know, you have those stems coming out, but with this, it's kind of
02:38flush to your ear so it doesn't look as obnoxious. And for that, I think it's better.
02:43Who cares about colors? I prefer just having simple white or silver. That's all I need.
02:49That's all. And I'll have you know, black, no. This comes in silver. Thank you very much. And
02:52that's probably even better than the white, honestly. Super sleek. And honestly, look at this
02:57case compared to this. About the same size, but I kind of like the way this feels in my hand as
03:02opposed to this, and fits in my pocket. It's much easier to just slide in my pocket. And honestly,
03:07look at this. Look at how easy these come out. Boom. Simple. You can't beat these. Come on.
03:12That's fair enough. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments below, especially
03:16how which one you think is better. Don't forget to check out our buy and skip for the Samsung
03:22Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Now it's my turn. So the reason why I also like about the Pixel Buds Pro
03:28is that they have incredible value. I'm not paying an arm and a leg to get a pair of earbuds.
03:33And on top of this, there's a lot of value because it has noise cancellation. If I'm in the subway,
03:39want to cancel out the noise, just listen to my music, it has that feature. Also, you have the noise
03:45amplification. So if you want to hear your surroundings, still be able to talk to someone
03:49while listening to music, you have that option as well. And lastly, it's just the price. Like I said,
03:55it's cheaper than the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. You're looking at on average $200. But on sale right now,
04:03you could probably get it for as low as $140. And the difference between this and that,
04:07I could probably buy something else, maybe a case for my phone or, you know, some other gadget.
04:13So there's a lot of value in this. Tons of features packed into it as well. So you're getting
04:18the most bang for the buck. Yeah, I don't, you know, price is one thing, but you know,
04:22I'm willing to pay extra, what is it, $50 more for more features and simply put just better overall
04:29design and everything. I mean, you could get away with going for the pixel buds. And you know,
04:35if you, if you are on the budget side, that's fine, but I'd rather have the full gamut. I'd rather
04:40have everything and AI stuff, adaptive EQ. You can't really go wrong with that. $250. I mean, come on.
04:47So you like paying for stuff that you're not going to use.
04:50Yes. For my final point, I was going to go with design, but since you already picked it,
04:56you know, I'm going to have to go with something a little different. And I think I'm going to go
04:58with IP57 rating and the active noise cancellation on these are superior. Now, IP57 rating, those are
05:07only IPX4, which means they're really not that capable of keeping out water and stuff now to a
05:13certain degree. Whereas this, the buds are rated against dust, solids, which is nice, water, sweat. I mean,
05:21you got, you got everything there. Plus ANC, you know, active noise cancellation on this is stellar. When I put
05:28them on, it was like I was in another world. It's like I was in a pocket dimension. It was amazing. And you
05:33don't really get that on those, especially given the fact that those are now two years old. Not really good. You know,
05:38not really good. Due to its IP57 rating, you can go to the gym and you can jump in the pool with these. I
05:44mean, you got coverage and which is nice. I mean, you don't have to worry about getting sweat all over
05:49when you're in the gym or on a run. Plus these even have a windscreen. First of all, who is swimming
05:56with their earbuds on? I know I'm not. Maybe in the shower, I'll use them, but there are very rare instances
06:02where I need to listen to music while I'm in the pool. Not really. So that's great. It has better water
06:08resistance and dust resistance, but for the most part, everyday use for me, it's more than adequate.
06:13And you talk about noise cancellation. Yes, I'll give it to you, but I don't need to be in that other
06:18dimension. I live here in the real world. So it has more than what I need for getting the job done.
