Ferre Grignard — Ferre Grignard 1972 (Belgium, Hippie Folk, Blues Rock)

Ferre Grignard (born Fernand Grignard) was a Belgian musician from Antwerp. He was born on March 13, 1939. The generation of the 1960s in Belgium recognized him as the first protest hippie. After the international success of his song "Ring Ring, I've Got To Sing" in 1965, he even performed at the Olympia in Paris. At the height of his career, he went to live in a hippie commune, where he played music, painted, and, naturally, helped his friends financially. In short, he neglected his career and was soon forgotten by his fans. He died in Antwerp of throat cancer on August 6, 1982, at the age of 43. At the time, he lived in an unheated attic, surrounded by empty bottles. He is buried at Schoonselhof Cemetery among Antwerp's most respected citizens. The musician's third solo album is available here.
