Heavy rain and hail hit the town of Tarija in southern Bolivia, destroying crops and flooding streets this Thursday afternoon. Authorities reported that the weather event destroyed several crops and damaged the infrastructure of educational and health centers and housing. The secretary of economy and finance of the Departmental Federation of Farmers of Tarija, David Yucra, emphasized that the assessment of the damage will continue this Friday. For his part, the mayor of Tarija, Johnny Torres, together with 200 workers, formed emergency brigades for the most affected areas and emphasized that although the storm lasted more than 40 minutes, it caused the collapse of the streets.
