00:00This console is what the Intellivision Amico should have been, and today you're going to find out exactly why.
00:09Hello everyone, I am the K2R2 or the K2 Retro Second, and you know what I'm all about.
00:16And today is going to be a discussion video on the Intellivision Sprint and why I think that this console should have been the Intellivision Amico,
00:25or what the Intellivision Amico should have been in the first place.
00:30So, recently a new trailer came up from Atari, and it's all about the Intellivision Sprint.
00:38And after seeing the trailer, and after seeing the discussions about it, I'm like, you know what, let's do a video discussion about it, right?
00:48So as of this recording, as of this video, you can actually pre-order the Intellivision Sprint right now.
00:56Which is actually pretty good.
01:01Now, I also would like to know more of why does it justify the $150 price tag, which honestly I don't agree with that price tag.
01:12I think it should have been a little lower than that for a plug-and-play console.
01:15But, let's see. Let's see what this is all about.
01:21So, as you can see, I'm on the Atari website right now as we speak.
01:29And as it shows, we have the pictures.
01:31We have the pictures right here.
01:33And we have our description.
01:37So, it says here,
01:37The very first Intellivision console brought to you by Atari.
01:42The Intellivision Sprint retains the authentic look and feel of the original, modernized, with HDMI and wireless controllers.
01:50Includes 45 built-in games.
01:52Now, that is a lot of games. 45.
01:55Including games like Bullard Dash and Shark Shark, along with classic Intellivision Sports games, strategy games, and more.
02:02It also includes new overlays for each game.
02:08Ah, pretty fancy.
02:12So, this is what the console looks like.
02:15And, I've got to admit, wonderful.
02:18This is actually pretty wonderful.
02:21If I do say so myself.
02:23It looks just like the classic Intellivision.
02:26The classic Intellivision that many people remember.
02:29Now, I actually remember my first time playing Intellivision games.
02:33Now, I never had an Intellivision console.
02:35But, I have played the Nintendo DS version of Intellivision Libs.
02:41And I thought that collection was pretty good.
02:44Pretty good.
02:45You know, at the time, I didn't know what Intellivision was until getting that collection.
02:50That I started to know what it was.
02:52So, I'm very sure this will get a lot of people into Intellivision and to learn more about the system.
03:00So, technically, here are some pictures right here.
03:07So, we can see this is what our keypad looks like.
03:11This is what the keypad is going to look like.
03:13And, again, it's wireless.
03:17You know, it has a weird disc.
03:19And, it's got the keypad.
03:21And, on this picture, we have overlays.
03:24Which, they look actually pretty nice.
03:28They look pretty nice and well done.
03:31Then, we got another picture of the console itself.
03:37Now, I technically think they should have put a few things on this.
03:41Like, either maybe a cartridge slot so we can play some original Intellivision cartridges.
03:47You know, just like with the Atari 2600 and 7800 Plus.
03:51Where you can actually put in your old Atari cartridges and actually play them on there.
03:55So, I think if they put a cartridge slot on the Intellivision Sprint, that actually would have been, you know, another home run right there, actually.
04:08Or, what about an SD card slot?
04:13Or, a micro SD card slot.
04:15So, maybe we can bring our own Intellivision games.
04:17That would be a great idea.
04:20You know?
04:20I actually, you know, I'm actually an advocate for bringing your own games.
04:26To such a system like this.
04:28So, I genuinely think that they actually should put an SD card slot so we can bring our own games on there.
04:36You know?
04:40So, let's actually take a look at the games.
04:48Well, actually, there's some features here, too.
04:50So, we'll take a look at the features and the game list.
04:53So, the features, as you know, it's got 45 built-in games, easily connects to modern TVs and monitors with HDMI, two wireless controllers, overlays for every game, and USB-A port.
05:07Now, again, I really think they should add an SD card slot or maybe the cartridge slot so we can play our old Intellivision games on this one.
05:20Just like how you could with this console over here, the Atari 2600+.
05:24So, either way, even though, you know, there's no SD card slot, I'm very sure somebody will come along and probably make a custom firmware or a mod for this.
05:38Where we can bring our own games.
05:40You know, I'd like to see that happen, too.
05:44And, you know, I think that's a good thing.
05:49So, let's look at the games.
05:50What games are included on this?
05:52So, we got 45 games, right?
05:55So, this is the full game list.
05:56And, I'd like to know your thoughts in the comments section of the selection of games that we have here.
06:05You know, I think this is a pretty decent selection.
06:08We got Armor Battle, Astro Smash, Auto Racing.
06:12Oh, look!
06:14Oh, look!
06:15Bay 17 Bomber!
06:20You know, classic angry video game nerd right there.
06:23They also have Baseball, Body Slam, Super Pro Wrestling, Bomb Squad, Boulder Dash, Bowling, Buzz Bombers.
06:34You know, you got your essential in television games here.
06:39You know, you got Chip Shot, Super Pro Golf, Deep Pockets, Frog Bog, Golf, Hover Force, King of the Mountain, Motocross, Mountain Madness, Night Stalker, Pinball,
06:51Reversi, Sea Battle, Shark Shark, Slam Dunk, Super Pro Basketball, Slapshot, Super Pro Hockey, Snafu, Soccer, Space Armada, Space Battles, Space Spartans.
07:03Man, there's your collection of space games right there.
07:08Spiker, Super Pro Volleyball, Stadium Mud Buggies, Star Strike, Sub Hunt, Super Pro Decathlon, Super Pro Football, TakeOver, Tennis, Thin Ice, Thunder Castle, Tower of Doom, Triple Action, Triple Challenge, Utopia, and Vectron.
07:28Now, that's a lot of games.
07:33That is a lot of games.
07:35But I'm very sure it would definitely be worth the price to have all 45 of these classic titles.
07:45So, is it going to be worth it?
07:48Well, let's find out.
07:50You know, we'll find out hopefully once the console comes out.
07:53In fact, let's see when the console comes out.
07:59Early December 2025.
08:01Okay.
08:02Okay.
08:03All right.
08:04I can live with that.
08:09So, yeah.
08:11The Intellivision Sprint.
08:12So, why do I think that this is what the Intellivision Amico should have been?
08:16Right?
08:17I mean, it's not vaporware.
08:20I'll definitely tell you all that one.
08:23It's not vaporware.
08:25It's not a scam.
08:27And, of course, this is being sold by Atari of all companies.
08:31I mean, come on.
08:33I mean, I think Atari is really pushing out the Intellivision brand way better than how Tommy Tallarico and others involved in the Amico project have done.
08:47You know, because everybody knows the Intellivision Amico was obviously a scam, right?
08:54I've actually been following the story, though I never covered that story.
08:59I never have covered it.
09:01I know that, you know, other people have covered this, like Path to NES Punk and other RetroTubers that have covered this subject.
09:10So, you know, you can always check out their videos if you wanted to know more about it.
09:18Or watch the Kick Scammers video that talks about the Amico.
09:24So, genuinely, I think the Intellivision Sprint, I think it's going to do very, very well.
09:32You know, I think it's going to do well with fans of Intellivision, old and new.
09:38And, you know, many people that want to get into retro games.
09:42You know.
09:42Definitely, I think it's going to be worth the price.
09:48I think it's going to be worth the price.
09:51And, you know, let's see how it goes when it comes out.
09:56You know.
09:57And if I ever get my hands on one for maybe like a lower price than this.
10:02Maybe I can do a review on it.
10:08And that's a maybe.
10:09I mean, it's not a guarantee I'll do a review on it.
10:11But, yeah.
10:15But we'll see.
10:16We will definitely see.
10:18So, yeah.
10:19I have high hopes that this console will do good.
10:22And I know the talented people at Atari are working hard, you know, to make this console pretty good.
10:33And, you know, may God bless the people at Atari who are very talented.
10:38And I really hope, you know, their careers keep on going.
10:44And keep, you know, keep being well for them.
10:48You know.
10:49And I really hope this console becomes successful.
10:51I really hope it does.
10:53I really hope it does.
10:57So, anyway.
10:58I am the K2 R2 or the K2 Retro Second.
11:01Thank you guys for watching this little discussion video I decided to do.
11:06And here's today's Bible verse of the day, which I'll bring up right here right now.
11:13I'm trying to bring it up.
11:14There we go.
11:16All right.
11:16So, here's today's Bible verse of the day.
11:19This is from the book of John.
11:21It says here.
11:23If we confess our sins.
11:26That's right.
11:26If we confess our sins.
11:29He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
11:36So, definitely.
11:38I actually encourage you guys, you know, to come to the Lord and confess your sins.
11:45And the Lord will be faithful and just to forgive you your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
11:53So, anyway.
11:56I'm the K2 R2.
11:57And I will see you guys next time.
11:59Thank you for watching this quick discussion video.
12:02And peace out.
12:04God bless.
