How highly do rate Sheffield's markets?
Transcript
00:01How do you rate Sheffield's markets?
00:03It's not as good as what it were down at the old markets.
00:06They're all right, but it didn't seem to have got the same atmosphere.
00:10Same, what can I say?
00:13The old market where people were shouting, you know, the store loads were shouting.
00:17You know, you've got that camaraderie with the customers.
00:20Down there, it didn't seem to have got it anymore.
00:22Some have missed, some have missed. It's all right, but there's something just missing.
00:25I don't know, I can't put my finger on it, but there's something just missing.
00:29I think they're pretty decent, to be fair. Better than a lot of the market towns around here.
00:34There's quite a few different options. You've got your phone ones and then there's your fairground type ones.
00:41Obviously the fair comes on sometimes, that's quite good as well.
00:44So yeah, overall I'd say it's quite a good city.
00:47I rate them excellent because I enjoy the diversity that they bring.
00:53So currently, especially the food market, it's been amazing. It's exceptional.
00:58Well, to tell you the truth, I don't go in it that often. I haven't been in.
01:06But funnily enough, we went in probably for the first time last week because we wanted to go to the butchers.
01:15where my daughter lives at Woodseas is now closed.
01:20And so we will now, in future, be going there.
01:23I wouldn't actually go in there to get merchandise and stuff.
01:28But to go to the butchers or the fishmongers, I would use it for that as opposed to getting the fish or the meat at the supermarket.
01:44Let's go!
