00:09Ambulance crews responded to reports of leaking packages at post offices in Charters Towers and Townsville just before 7 o'clock this morning.
00:18In Townsville, the West End building was evacuated with one patient taken to hospital for monitoring.
00:24They remain in a stable condition. Four patients were transported from the Charters Towers post office to the local health service.
00:32They have since been discharged. Emergency services are investigating the incident.
00:37Police have confirmed that the chemical contained in the packages was an agricultural insecticide.
