President Donald Trump acknowledged major tensions between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, saying, “We have a problem. They don’t get along too well.” Speaking about his upcoming meeting with Putin in Hungary, hosted by Viktor Orbán, Trump admitted the two leaders’ strained relationship could complicate peace efforts, suggesting he might meet them “separately but equal” to avoid confrontation.

00:00Yeah, please.
00:00Following up on that, Mr. President.
00:02I didn't say you.
00:03Mr. President.
00:03You're CNN, fake news.
00:04Go ahead.
00:05You said in your post that if they kept killing people in Gotham,
00:09you would have no choice but to go in and kill them.
00:11So do you mean U.S. forces would go in and take out?
00:15No, I didn't say who would go in, but somebody will go in.
00:18It's not going to be us.
00:19We won't have to.
00:20There are people very close, very nearby that will go in.
00:23They'll do the trick very easily, but under our auspices.
00:26Could I follow up?
00:28You also posted about your call with President Putin today.
00:31You spoke about a meeting in Hungary with him.
00:33Do you have a timeline or a date set for what?
00:35I would say within two weeks or so, pretty quick.
00:38Marco Rubio is going to be meeting with his counterpart, as you know, Labrov.
00:44And they'll be meeting pretty soon.
00:46They're going to set up a time and a place very shortly.
00:49Maybe it's already set up.
00:51They've already spoken.
00:52And I thought it was a very good phone call.
00:54I thought very productive.
00:55But I'll be meeting with President Putin, and we'll make a determination.
01:01Tomorrow, I'm meeting with President Zelensky, and I'll be telling him about the call.
01:07I mean, we have a problem.
01:08They don't get along too well, those two.
01:10And it's sometimes tough to have meetings.
01:13So we may do something where we're separate, but separate but equal.
01:17We'll meet and talk to parties.
01:21But this is a terrible relationship, the two of them have.
01:26And it's one of those things.
01:28I've seen things that nobody would believe.
01:30But this is one of them.
01:31So I'll be meeting.
01:32We're going to be meeting in Hungary.
01:35Viktor Orban is going to be hosting.
01:39And it's really something that's time.
01:44Last week, over 7,000 people were killed.
01:48That's ridiculous.
01:50And, you know, it doesn't affect our country.
01:52We're not losing people.
01:53We're not losing Bobby.
01:54We're not losing Americans.
01:55But they're losing Russians, Ukrainians, mostly soldiers, for the most part, soldiers.
02:01And we think we're going to get it.
02:03We hope we're going to get it stopped.
02:05I thought this would be, because of my relationship with President Putin, I thought this would be very quick.
02:11And it's turned out to be.
02:13Who would think I did Middle East before I did this?
02:15We did a total of eight now.
02:16Seven and now eight.
02:18And we're going to make this number nine.
02:21Yeah, please.
02:23You said you posted that there was great progress.
02:26Can you tell us a little bit about that?
02:27Was it a shift in Putin's tone?
02:29Was it something new?
02:31He told you.
02:32Did he give you any message to give?
02:34He's talking about the whole President Zelensky tomorrow.
02:36It just seems to me that, you know, look, it's only a field.
02:40That's all I've done in my whole life.
02:42I've made deals.
02:42I know about deals.
02:43I do it well.
02:45I don't think any president's ever ended a war, frankly.
02:48One war.
02:49I did eight of them, Maria, right?
02:50But did Bush ever end?
02:53Do you think Biden ended a war?
02:54Biden started wars because he was stupid.
02:58But do you think Biden ended any wars?
03:00No.
03:01I don't think I don't know of anybody that ended wars.
03:03I ended eight of them.
03:05Now, it's going to be nine.
03:05I think we're going to have this one done hopefully soon.
03:08But I'll be meeting him probably over the next two weeks.
03:11First, Marco is going to be meeting.
03:14And the vice president, as you know, is very much involved.
03:17The whole team is involved.
03:18Steve Whitcoff will be involved.
03:19Yeah.
