Liberal senator Jane Hume told Sunrise host Nat Barr that she would have to "speak slower and talk about the regions a lot more" if she were to consider leaving the Liberal Party and joining the federal Nationals.
Transcript
00:00Um, just quickly before we go, are you going to the Nationals?
00:02Because Little Brown is just welcoming people in.
00:05Ah, well look, I do look very fetching in a Nakubra, Nat, I'll tell you that much.
00:10And I'd have to speak a lot slower and talk about the regions more often, down in Cocky's Corner.
00:17But look, no, to be honest, I am too fond of good coffee and free markets to join the National Party.
00:24And you get along with Susan Lee really well, so you wouldn't want to do that. Thank you very much.
