00:00What is particularly interesting in this time series from the satellites is that the shortwave
00:27part, this solar absorption part is showing a quite substantial increase and what we find
00:36also in this paper is that it's increasing more in the Northern Hemisphere than the Southern
00:44Hemisphere.
00:45So by increasing absorbed solar radiation that means a darkening of the Earth.
00:51So it means that Earth is getting darker and the Northern Hemisphere is getting darker faster
00:57than the Southern Hemisphere.
01:00Until recently, or at least the last couple of decades, there has been a major cleanup of
01:13aerosol pollution.
01:14So aerosols are these tiny particles that often, many of them reflect sunlight, so they lead
01:21to a cooling.
01:22And when you remove these reflecting particles, that means that more of the sunlight is absorbed.
01:29And they do not only reflect sunlight, but they also affect the clouds.
01:34So when you have aerosol pollution, it makes the clouds brighter, which leads to a cooling.
01:41And again, when you clean up the aerosols, then the clouds also get darker.
01:48And that's a major effect.
01:49And that's a major effect.
01:50And that's a major effect.
01:55Soатель, let's do this.
01:57Let's do this.
