How Bengaluru surgeon used anesthesia to kill his wife

00:15Hospital. They married on May 26, 2024, but less than a year later, on April 23, 2025,

00:21Krutika collapsed at her father's residence in Marathali, where she was staying due to health

00:25issues. Mahindra had reportedly visited her and administered intravenous injections over two

00:30days, claiming it was a part of her treatment. She was declared dead at a nearby private hospital.

00:35At first, police registered an unnatural death report, but suspicion was raised by Krutika's

00:40elder sister, Dr. Nikita M. Reddy, who insisted on a detailed probe. Six months later, the forensic

00:46science laboratory report confirmed the presence of propofol in multiple organs, establishing that

00:51Krutika's death was caused by the anesthetic compound, restricted strictly to operation

00:55theatre use. Following this revelation, Marathali police reclassified the case as murder under

01:01Section 103 of the Bharti Nyaya Sanita 2023 and arrested Mahindra from Manipal, Udupi, where

01:06he had relocated after the incident. Further inquiries have revealed that Mahindra's family has a

01:11criminal history. His twin brother, Dr. Nagendra Reddy, faced several cheating and criminal cases

01:16in 2018, while Mahindra himself was a co-accused in a 2023 case for allegedly threatening a complainant's

01:22family, details that Krutika's family say were conceived at the time of the marriage. Krutika,

01:27just 28 years old, was a highly qualified dermatologist, an MBBS from Vede Institute of

01:33Medical Sciences, and was set to inaugurate her dream clinic Skin and Scalpel on May 4, 2025. Marathali
