00:00Well, NATO defence ministers are meeting for the first time since a barrage of drones and Russian jets violated NATO airspace in several countries in recent weeks.
00:08So naturally high on the agenda for discussion is an agreed set of the rules of engagement for NATO countries on how best to respond to future incursions.
00:17They'll discuss things like uniformity, how effective the response should be and how proportionate should be.
00:22But there will be a discussion, of course, about whether or not to shoot down Russian jets.
00:27Also on the agenda is military burden sharing for Ukraine, in particular through NATO's new PERL initiative, the Prioritise Ukraine Requirements List, which essentially means that NATO countries can purchase weapons from the United States and give them to Ukraine.
00:42And then finally, Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of War, is here today with his fellow defence ministers.
00:47But of course, they'll be also and surely be asking him about that anticipated, speculated moment as to whether U.S. President Donald Trump will allow Ukraine to buy long-range Tomahawk missiles for use for strikes against Russia.
01:03That decision is not due until Friday, but no doubt the issue will loom large here today.
