U.S. stock futures advanced on Wednesday following Tuesday’s mixed close. Futures of major benchmark indices were higher.

Among the big banks that reported on Tuesday, surpassing analyst expectations were Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE:WFC), Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C), JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM), and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (NYSE:GS).

Investors are awaiting earnings results from Bank of America Corp. (NYSE:BAC), Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS), and Abbott Laboratories (NYSE:ABT) today.

01:07on the back of its earnings report meanwhile the futures were rejoicing from comments from the
01:13federal reserve chair jerome powell who said that quote downside risks to employment appear to have
01:19risen end quote this implies more rate cuts are in the cards so maybe we do get our cut here in october
01:26the 10-year treasury bond yielded 4.01 percent and the two-year bond was at 3.47 percent that 10-year
01:34bond is stubbornly hanging on to that four handle we'd love to see that trade into the three handle
01:39some stocks in focus it's going to be some of those banks here bank of america rose 0.76 percent
01:45ahead of its earnings before the opening bell analyst estimates uh estimates excuse me earnings
01:51of 96 cents per share and revenue of 27.5 billion morgan stanley uh that advanced 1.52 percent as
02:01analyst earnings uh estimate earnings at 210 per share on revenue of 16.7 billion and abbott labs uh that
02:09was up 0.36 percent higher ahead of its earnings before the opening bell analyst estimates uh earnings
02:15of 130 per share on revenue of 11.4 billion so of those three abt abbott labs the only stock to trade
02:22lower so far asml also uh in play here today that jumped 3.74 percent after reporting better than expected
02:32third quarter bookings company said net bookings rose to 5.4 billion euro or 6.27 billion in the third
02:41quarter 6.27 billion u.s dollars uh in the third quarter also papa john's shares uh ticker pzza shares
02:50surged 11.69 percent following reports that apollo global management has submitted a new takeover bid
02:56apollo sent papa john's a fresh offer last week to take the pizza chain private for 64 a share that post
03:05was according to reuters by the way ticker pzza did trade up to a high of 57 in the after hours yesterday
03:13currently hovering just beneath 54 at 53 80
