00:00The Office of Civil Defense reported earlier today that more than 1.8 million individuals were already affected by the recent earthquakes that rocked Davao Oriental and Cebu.
00:14In Davao Oriental, a total of 256 and 36 families, or 1,124,611 individuals, were affected by the twin earthquakes measuring magnitudes 7.4 and 6.8,
00:29which jolted the town of Manay on October 10.
00:33Those affected were reported in Davao and Caraga regions, covering 7 provinces, 51 cities and municipalities, and 491 barangays.
00:44Meanwhile, in Bogos City, Cebu, 212,445 families, or 744,566 individuals, were affected by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck on September 30.
00:58In Cebu province alone, 18 cities and municipalities and 259 barangays were affected.
01:06There were 75 reported deaths and 559 injuries in the said province.
01:12OCD spokesperson Juni Castillo said the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and all response agencies ensure immediate assistance and coordinated action in quake hit areas.
