00:00The Department of Social Welfare and Development has provided at least 21.3 million pesos worth of assistance
00:07to families and individuals affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck parts of Mindanao on June 8.
00:15Based on the Disaster Response Operations Monitoring, Information and Communication report as of June 10,
00:21the agency has distributed 15,930 family food packs, more than 4,000 ready-to-eat food boxes,
00:29and other non-food items to affected families.
00:33The DSWD has also released 4.76 million pesos in cash assistance under its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations
00:42program
00:42for injured individuals, bereaved families, and other affected residents.
00:47According to DSWD, the earthquake affected 197,750 individuals or 43,716 families
00:58in 231 barangays across Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, Soxarjen, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
01:08Currently, 3,633 families are staying in evacuation centers.
