It seems Daniel Day-Lewis couldn't turn down his son and has come out of his eight year retirement from acting. He co-wrote Anemone with his son, Ronan and told us of his "pure joy" working together with his son on this "unknown territory" film.
Daniel's return to film is surrounded by Oscar buzz. “Anemone” is scheduled to be released in UK cinemas on 7 November 2025. Report by Jonesl. Like us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/itn and follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/itn
00:00It's just been a pure joy really from beginning to end I mean in many ways it was no different to all the other things that we've chosen to work on together over the years and yet at the same time it was unknown territory for both of us going into this like starting from scratch and not knowing what we'd end up with and really not knowing if it would end up being something that could go into production.
00:27I think it's hard to say concretely but yeah definitely those experiences being on sets as a kid were intoxicating and just seeing that those worlds being built and that kind of make-believe world being stepped into and kind of treated as real I think was something that I loved and yeah also just my parents both showing me so many films from an early age that I otherwise never would have come across until way
