Are parking companies out of control?

00:00It's disgusting and there's got to be some governing body about it.
00:04I think they frighten people more than anything,
00:06especially with this £100 fine or whatever it is, initially.
00:09And then you have to go to court to contest it
00:11because you feel that you're innocent.
00:15If you're like five minutes over,
00:18like my daughter, she went to a show,
00:21the show overran, she got back to the car and she got a ticket.
00:25So, not very good. Not very good.
00:27A body of something somewhere that controls these private parking companies,
00:34but a lot of them, if they have ANPR,
00:38you go in, find out that you can't pay because you haven't got the card
00:42or they don't take cash or whatever.
00:44You come out, I don't know what the discretion is,
00:48whether it's like five minutes in and out without a fine, I don't know.
00:52I don't think there's any signs that say that, sort of thing like,
00:56but I've never been caught on that.
00:58I always have a good look first, one of them things.
01:01Fixed price for everything.
01:04And, all right, five minutes over, she'll let them off
01:07because you can't always get there quick enough, can you?
01:14Well, give them a bit of time, leeway,
01:16before they charge them these exo prices afterwards.

01:25Well, I don't know if we've got any parking anywhere.
01:29I, er, very rare to park in town, isn't it?
01:33I park outside town and catch a bus.
