The Gaza atrocities are a return to barbarism in a modern guise, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in his keynote address at the Kuala Lumpur Conference On A New Just and Humane International Order 2025 on Tuesday (Oct 14).

Anwar also defended Asean's decision to invite US President Donald Trump to the Asean Summit later this month, saying that they need to engage with the US to advance peace.

00:00Galvanizing the South is shaping a new international order.
00:04Please put your hands together to invite young Amar Rahoma on stage to deliver the keynote speech.
00:11The world is, of course, testing the very ideas of justice and humanity
00:16that once defined the international order.
00:19Malaysia took a stand because silence was no longer an option.
00:24We have committed, of course, within our capacity, 100 million initially, in humanitarian aid for Gaza.
00:31And working with Japan jointly amongst East Asian countries to mobilize more support.
00:45We also support the NGOs in the Global Sumut Flotilla, and thank you. It means a lot to us.
00:53Now, with the latest fragile ceasefire in place in Shamashakh, we are monitoring by the minute,
01:02there is a glimpse, faint but real, of peace.
01:06But as you know, Malaysia is one of the few countries, with South Africa, Bolivia, Brazil,
01:12that supports ceasefire with strong reservations.
01:19There is no plan for comprehensive peace,
01:23no guarantee of return to the Palestinians,
01:29and no clear categorical statement to guarantee the formation of an independent state of Palestine.
01:46We are dealing with Netanyahu and his cabinet.
01:49We made no pretensions. They are not going to honor that.
01:53There were questions about our ASEAN invitation to President Trump,
01:57but I assure the House.
02:00We will continue to engage.
02:02We will state opposition,
02:04firmly and clearly,
02:06as we have done so,
02:08in front of President Biden or Olaf Scholz and the rest.
02:13Diplomacy is not a means to soothe our outrage or to massage our sense of place in the world,
02:23as if we alone were exempt from its compromises.
02:27It is the practical work of protecting our interests
02:30and advancing peace in an imperfect world.
02:34True diplomacy is not a dance of convenience,
02:40but a contest of endurance.
02:43It demands balance, discipline,
02:46and the courage to stay the course,
02:49even when the ground shifts beneath us.
02:53And in politics, the shifting tends to be proved too often.
02:57I mean, I am really excited when Louisa told me that you are coming at last.
03:02At last.
03:04At last.
03:07I was stuffed with him when I said,
03:09What?
03:10You have not been to Malaysia?
03:12It is totally unacceptable.
03:16But here you are.
03:17Thank you very much again.
03:18I wish you success.
03:32No matter which.
03:33Thank you very much.
03:35You might not doubt Weather explained,
03:37I if your manager said,
03:39you see it as a트 class has beenesting,
03:40I wish you enough to experience relative to people's time in sweetness.
03:42But how negative are you?
03:43So it's been to the place where I am.
03:44You don't judge cuál to fight.
03:45Oh.
03:46It's impossible.
03:47No matter which way,
03:47it means you will live when you're keeping your addressed,
03:50you'll see some agreements when you're getting in Cutter.
