00:00Now, you've heard of the strange Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, right?
00:04But wait, there's a new mystery to be solved.
00:08In the heart of Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood sits the world's most mysterious vending machine.
00:13It looks like it comes straight out of the 80s, and the weirdest part?
00:17Nobody knows how it got there.
00:19Despite having no clear owner, the Supernatural machine is fully functional
00:23and will shoot out a refreshing soda for just 75 cents.
00:27But you won't be getting your usual yummy selection.
00:31The cans that pop out of it are all drinks that haven't been seen in the U.S. since the 80s.
00:36If you're feeling extra brave, there's a button marked Mystery,
00:40which will dispense a completely random can of soda.
00:43One guy spent five bucks on the Mystery button,
00:46and the spooky machine popped out six entirely different brands of soda,
00:50none of which had their own button.
00:52There are rumors of Hubba Bubba soda and even bacon-flavored cola coming out of the vendor.
00:57Even weirder, one day, the regular buttons from the machine all vanished
01:01and were replaced with the uniform Mystery buttons.
01:05Whenever the machine breaks, it's always fixed almost immediately.
01:08But no one ever sees this happening.
01:11So where do the sodas come from?
01:13Who stocks them?
01:14And the most important part, who's getting all the money?
01:17It looks like we'll never find out,
01:19as back in June 2018, the vending machine vanished into thin air.
01:25All that's left in its spot is a note that reads,
01:27Went for a walk.
01:29No one has seen it since the day it disappeared.
01:32Some people think the machine belonged to the owners of Broadway Locksmith,
01:36the store behind which the vendor was located.
01:39This would make sense.
01:40It was linked up to the store's power supply
01:42and was locked with a lock sold in the store.
01:45But the locksmiths have always denied this
01:47and said that, like everyone else,
01:49they've never seen anyone open the machine.
01:52They might be telling the truth,
01:53as Seattle vending machine permit officials revealed
01:56that there are no official records of the vending machine ever existing
02:00or being linked to the store.
02:02Well, it's hard to keep tabs on a vanishing vending machine.
02:06The legend of the ghost ship of Northumberland Strait
02:09has puzzled experts for over 200 years.
02:12There have been numerous sightings of a mystery ship
02:15with three or four masts and pure white sails.
02:18It appears off the coast of Canada,
02:21and according to local folklore,
02:23the mystery ship emerges right before a storm.
02:26The weirdest part?
02:27The ship is said to be completely engulfed in flames.
02:31Legend has it that in 1900,
02:33a group of sailors raced toward the phantom ship in a small rowboat.
02:37They were aiming to rescue the crew,
02:39but only ended up watching the ship suddenly vanish before their eyes.
02:42In 2008, a boy reported seeing an unexplained bright white and gold ship,
02:48which vanished into thin air.
02:50There have been so many eyewitness accounts across the last 200 years,
02:55all of which give the exact same description of the phantom ship.
02:59One explanation is that the legend came about due to natural electrical phenomenon.
03:04That's pretty much lightning to you and me.
03:06Some say these flashes of bright light led to people seeing the illusion of a ship.
03:11Others believe that moonlight reflecting off thick fog
03:14is causing people to see things which aren't there.
03:18Aha.
03:19Have you ever danced the night away?
03:21Well, in the 16th century,
03:23Strasbourg, France danced the entire summer away.
03:26The townspeople were seemingly struck by a sudden and uncontrollable urge to dance,
03:32which lasted three months.
03:33It all started when some woman stepped into the street
03:36and began to inexplicably bust a move.
03:40She kept dancing for an entire week,
03:42and before long, dozens of people joined her.
03:45The bizarre episode began in July and didn't end until September.
03:49There are stories of similar manias happening in Germany,
03:52the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
03:54One theory is that a stress-induced hysteria took over the city.
03:58Another suggests that the dancers were part of a super weird movement.
04:02Theory number three suggests that the townspeople
04:05accidentally ate some toxic mold that produced wild hallucinations.
04:10Um, dance fever?
04:12In 2020, a star completely vanished from the night sky with zero explanation.
04:18Astronomers had had the star on their radar for around 20 years
04:22as it had an eerie blue glow.
04:24The star even shone brighter than the sun.
04:26Some say it vanished into a black hole,
04:29but that would result in a massive explosion called a supernova
04:32that we'd have definitely spotted.
04:35Others say that the star lost some of its mass,
04:38or that huge amounts of space dust are blocking the view.
04:41Hey, down in front, I'm watching a star here!
04:44For years, residents of the small city of Taos, New Mexico,
04:48have been haunted by a low-frequency noise
04:51drifting in with the desert's air.
04:54But it's not all residents.
04:56Only 2% report hearing the strange noise.
04:58And even those people describe it very differently.
05:02Some believe the sounds are caused by weird acoustics in the area.
05:05Others think it's mass hysteria.
05:07Well, some think there's a spookier reason.
05:10To this day, no one has ever found the source of the mysterious hum.
05:16You're walking alone in the woods and suddenly stumble across a random staircase
05:20that comes out of nowhere and doesn't go anywhere either.
05:24There are hundreds of reports of these random staircases in forests all over the world
05:28from the US, Italy, Cambodia, and the Philippines.
05:32The staircases don't seem abandoned.
05:34They're usually well-cleaned and free of vegetation.
05:37They never appear at the edges of forests either.
05:40It's always deep in the heart, usually several miles from any town.
05:45The legend of the stairs takes a creepy turn
05:47as they almost always appear in areas where someone has disappeared.
05:52People claim to have even seen the stairs move.
05:55One man climbed some stairs hidden deep in the woods to escape a stray dog.
06:00While he claims he was only up there for 5 minutes,
06:03legend suggests that he had been gone for 5 years.
06:06More and more sightings of these mysterious staircases are appearing.
06:11But despite new evidence, it seems we're no closer to finding out where they're appearing from or why.
06:17In Seattle, back in 1954, there was a bizarre windshield pitting galore.
06:23Residents began seeing holes and dents in their car windshields.
06:27Police initially believed it to be a kid causing trouble with a BB device.
06:31But the same thing began happening in other nearby towns.
06:35By April, over 3,000 cases of cracked windshields had been reported
06:39before the unexplained event abruptly stopped.
06:43Some people think the unexplained damage came from a new transmitter at a local radio station.
06:48They were convinced the radio waves were damaging the glass.
06:52Others believed it to be the work of sand fleas who burrowed into the windshields.
06:57Cosmic rays is another popular theory.
06:59But it was never actually confirmed whether the windshields were even cracked in the first place.
07:05Most reports suggest that the residents imagined the whole incident.
07:08But no one knows why.
07:11In November 2020, an unexplained metal monolith was discovered in a remote area of the Red Rock Canyon State Park in Utah.
07:20People were left baffled by the strange object.
07:22But just days later, it vanished.
07:24Some people say that the object was removed because its random appearance sparked so much media coverage
07:30with links to aliens and other supernatural theories.
07:34But the authorities denied ever moving the structure.
07:37Stranger still, less than two weeks after people stumbled across the first bizarre creation,
07:43a second monolith was discovered nearly halfway across the planet.
07:47A third one soon appeared in California,
07:49with a fourth appearing in New Mexico but vanishing the very same day.
07:53No one knows where the monolith came from or why or if more will ever appear.
07:59A world-renowned Swedish diving team were searching for sunken treasure in the Gulf of Bafnia
08:06when they stumbled across a 200-foot object which was covered in unnatural or alien-looking symbols.
08:13There was so much electrical energy in the area at the time
08:16that the divers couldn't snap a clear shot of the mysterious object.
08:19The perfectly round disc on the ocean floor looked eerily like a UFO.
08:25The divers, some of whom had 20 years of experience,
08:28reported having never seen anything quite like it before.
08:32Known as the Baltic Sea Anomaly,
08:34the origins of this object and what it actually is are yet to be discovered.
08:39A world-renowned Swedish means the sword.
08:55A world-renowned Swedish means the spark in the Gulf of Bafia.
