Well, you might be wondering what the budget had in store for the agriculture sector.

Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo confirmed an allocation of over 1.1 billion dollars while the government aims to reduce the food import bill and use the sector to help diversify the country's economy.

00:13It currently contributes less than 1% of GDP, a strategic vulnerability we propose to reduce.
00:20We will align CARICOM's 25 by 25 initiative to reduce food imports by at least 25% by 2030 while promoting agro-exports.
