Ready, lift, take-off! Arm & Hammer is once again taking creativity, arts, and science to new heights this week for its second annual Rocket Day, inspiring students all across the country to get involved in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics). Rocket Day was celebrated in more than 18,000 classrooms across the country, including this one in Queens, NY at P.S. 127 where scientist, aerospace engineer, TV host, and best-selling author Emily Calandrelli, known as 'The Space Gal,' was on hand. Calandrelli says this day isn't just about launching rockets, it's about launching futures and inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, artists and innovators. The goal is to provide students of all backgrounds an accessible and exciting way to explore STEAM using materials they already have at home or in the classroom. By combining the everyday magic of baking soda with hands-on creativity, it helps teach kids problem-solving skills and ignite their curiosity which is something Arm & Hammer has supported for years. Visit bakingsodarocket.com to see how you can get involved beyond Rocket Day and for more hands-on fun with baking soda, go to armandhammer.com/steam .

00:00Ready, lift, takeoff. Arm & Hammer is once again taking creativity, arts, and science to new heights this week for its second annual Rocket Day,
00:11inspiring students all across the country to get involved in STEAM, science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
00:19Rocket Day was celebrated in more than 18,000 classrooms across the country, including this one in Queens, New York at PS 127,
00:27where scientist, aerospace engineer, TV host, and best-selling author Emily Calangirelli, known as the Space Gal, was on hand.
00:36We just launched hundreds of baking soda rockets. It's one of my favorite science experiments.
00:41It's easy to do, and the kids love it.
00:45A baking soda rocket is one of those perfect science experiments because it uses household ingredients like Arm & Hammer baking soda
00:51and other easily accessible ingredients like vinegar and pencils and tape.
00:57And so you don't need much.
00:59Calangirelli says this day isn't just about launching rockets.
01:02It's about launching futures and inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, artists, and innovators.
01:10The goal is to provide kids from all backgrounds an accessible and exciting way to explore STEAM.
01:16By combining the everyday magic of Arm & Hammer baking soda and hands-on creativity,
01:21we are sparking that imagination, that curiosity in kids, which is something that Arm & Hammer has supported for years.
01:30Calangirelli knows firsthand how life-changing these experiences can be.
01:34The other thing that happened in the last year is that I flew to space myself.
01:38So this year, not only were they building the rockets themselves, they got to watch my rocket launch,
01:44and hopefully that ignited the spark of curiosity in them to see themselves perhaps doing the same thing.
01:52Arm & Hammer baking soda is one of the most accessible science experiment ingredients.
01:57It's so cheap.
01:59I use it and everything.
02:00It's touch safe.
02:00It's taste safe.
02:02So one of my favorite ones is simply Arm & Hammer baking soda and vinegar, a little bit of food coloring.
02:07You can make rainbow bubbles.
02:09If you put that science experiment inside of a paint can and shut the lid, you can make a paint can rocket.
02:14You can put it in a cauldron and make witches brew.
02:18There's so many things you can do.
02:20Visit BakingSodaRocket.com to see how you can get involved beyond Rocket Day.
02:26And for more hands-on fun with baking soda, go to ArmAndHammer.com slash steam.
