A massive 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck off the southern coast of the Philippines, triggering tsunami warnings across the region, including parts of Indonesia. The powerful quake, centered near Manay town in Davao Oriental, shook buildings, caused deadly landslides, and forced thousands to flee to higher ground.  At least five people lost their lives, including two who suffered heart attacks during the quake and two buried in a landslide in a remote gold mining village. A second tremor measuring 6.9 magnitude hit shortly after, raising fears of more destruction.  This comes just weeks after the country faced its deadliest earthquake in over a decade. 00:07The quake struck just off the coast of Mindanao early Friday.

00:10Centered near Manetown in Davao Oriental, it tore through the region at a depth of 22 kilometers.

00:17Within moments, alarms blared. Tsunami warnings hit the Philippines, Indonesia's Sulawesi, and Papua regions.

00:24Waves up to 10 feet were feared. People rushed inland, climbing to higher ground in panic.

00:29In the chaos, at least five lives were lost. Two from heart attacks in a hospital.

00:35Two more buried in a landslide at a remote mining village. One more death confirmed as rescue teams moved in.

00:41A second powerful tremor hit shortly after, a 6.9-magnitude jolt.
