Jørgen Strand Larsen has made it clear that it never crossed his mind to force a move to Newcastle United after Wolves blocked a potential summer transfer. The Norwegian striker emerged as one of Newcastle’s top targets as Eddie Howe looked to bring in two forwards before the window closed.

With Alexander Isak going on strike to force a move to Liverpool and Callum Wilson departing, Newcastle turned to Strand Larsen — but Wolves stood firm. Two bids, worth £50 million and £55 million, were rejected as Wolves made it clear he was not for sale.

00:25Newcastle turned to Strand-Larsen but Wolves stood firm. Two bids worth £50m and £55m were rejected
00:34as Wolves made it clear he was not for sale. Despite the speculation, Strand-Larsen insists
00:39he never considered taking drastic action to push the deal through. I don't have much to say about
00:46it, he told Norwegian media. We all have contracts but at the same time it's important that clubs and
00:51players managed to have a proper dialogue. From our side I think we did things right. The transfer
00:57came quite late in the window and it's hard to say what would have happened if it had been earlier.
01:05But we resolved the situation well and in our heads they were in the right place.
01:09A team player. He has quality. Not only because of course for a striker, when we look for a striker,
01:19we want goals but he works a lot to help the team. He's a team worker.
01:26His professionalism was quickly rewarded with Wolves offering him an improved contract just weeks
01:32after he had made his permanent move from Sevilla. Head coach Vitor Pereira praised Strand-Larsen's
01:39attitude and commitment throughout the summer saga.
01:44We usually say that players can have one foot in our club and one foot out but I never felt that
01:49with Strand-Larsen, Pereira said. He's always maintained this level in training.
01:55For Wolves fans it's another sign of the culture Pereira is building at Molyneux. In an era when player power
02:01dominates transfer windows. Strand-Larsen's loyalty stands out. Proof that Wolves are not only keeping
02:07hold of their key players but fostering the right mentality within the squad.
