Factory busted for making fake Colgate toothpaste in Gujarat’s Kutch

Police in Gujarat’s Kutch district have uncovered a factory manufacturing fake Colgate toothpaste.

00:06A new fear has gripped India after a factory manufacturing fake Colgate toothpaste was

00:11busted in Gujarat's Kutch district.

00:13Acting on a tip-off, police raided the provinces and seized goods worth over Rs 9 lakh, including

00:19fake packaging, chemicals, machines and more than 500 duplicate Colgate tubes.

00:24Police say the factory was mixing unidentified chemicals to make counterfeit toothpaste and

00:28selling it in the market as genuine Colgate.

00:31A case has been registered under the Copyright Act 1957 and Section 420 of the Indian Penal

00:36Court for cheating and fraud.

00:38Four people have been booked in connection with the racket and efforts are underway to

00:42trace and arrest them.
