00:00Sit down and listen to the ancient tale I have for you.

00:04In those far-off days, long before our time, the story of a prince was known to all.

00:12Our prince was young and bold, rich in the strength of heroes and full of unyielding spirit.

00:18From his grandsire came a call to broaden his lands and make them strong.

00:23The will of the elders kindled the prince's heart with dreams of great realms, unconquered and of great strength.

00:31But those were fearsome days.

00:33The world was thick with wood spirits and fell white.

00:37Upon his path, the prince strove with all his might to fulfill his charge, raising many villages and fair towns.

00:45And the houses and bath halls he built were a delight to all the folk.

00:48Yet in these towns, foul creatures dwell not far, ever troubling the folk.

00:56At the fall of night, they would creep forth from their forests, casting greedy eyes upon the towns.

01:03And all this befell because our prince dared tread upon lands where you and the stoutest warrior feared to go.

01:10Into forests where fearsome beasts did roam.

01:13Into dark caverns and treacherous fence, and stranger places still.

01:17Thus did he render great service unto his people.

01:22Aided was he by the power of the old days.

01:25The prince gave worship to idols, offering them gifts, and they aided him in many ways.

01:32One was dread to behold, devouring men, yet granting a great strength beyond mortal ken in return.

01:39Another was kind, asking for but a handful of grain to make the forest flourish.

01:44There were many more, too many to name.

01:48The prince had a mighty army.

01:50Each warrior was stronger than a dozen men.

01:53They were given the finest spears and bows to march against the creatures of the dark.

01:59The tale of the prince shall live on in our memory,

02:03and his deeds shall be sung for as long as fires burn and tongues can tell.
