00:00Kilauea's eruption has paused, but it's just the calm before another fiery storm.
00:05Hawaiian scientists just flew over the summit of Kilauea Volcano,
00:09and what they found could reveal what's coming next.
00:12The eruption may be on pause for now, but deep underground, the pressure is building.
00:17Field crews collected lava from a recent flow during Episode 33.
00:21This hardened, a'a lava will now be studied in labs to track changes in volcanic chemistry.
00:26That data could unlock clues about what's fueling this powerful eruption series.
00:30Overnight, a glow was seen from the south vent, a sign that magma is still active below.
00:36And here's the big news. The ground at the summit is re-inflating.
00:40That means magma is pushing upward again.
00:42And scientists say Episode 34 could begin any moment between September 28th and October 1st.
00:49Meanwhile, a magnitude 3.6 quake hit south of the volcano.
00:53But so far, no activity has been seen in the east or southwest rift zones.
00:58The volcano alert level remains at watch, and eyes are now locked on the summit,
01:03because the next lava show might be just days away.
01:05Kilauea may be quiet now, but its silence is anything but peaceful.
