00:01A row erupted in Germany's Bundestag over the new European Asylum System GEAS.
00:09Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt wants tougher measures to control illegal migration.
00:15One concept under discussion is deporting migrants to centres in third countries.
00:20There are people who are illegally coming to Europe who have no protection, no permanence,
00:28and have to leave our country again in their homeland or, if this is not possible,
00:34in another, secure third-state.
00:37We consider that in the framework of such a system as useful and also doable.
00:42The AFD's Bernd Baumann considers the idea a fundamentally good one,
00:47but has questioned the SPD's ability to implement it.
00:50Green Party MP Claudia Roth says the concept runs counter to the principle of asylum.
00:53That's a great idea.
00:54It comes from us.
00:55We've done that for years.
00:56But if we want to implement it, then we shouldn't cooperate with the SPD,
00:59who said that this is hell.
01:01That's no case.
01:02And with the EU it's not going to happen.
01:03It's not going to happen.
01:04It's only going to be a national policy,
01:05with the majority of the people who voted in the Bundestag.
01:08They are there.
01:09With the AFD are the majority of the people there.
01:11You can do it all immediately.
01:13You can do it all immediately.
01:14Green Party MP Claudia Roth says the concept runs counter to the principle of asylum.
01:19First of all, I think that we don't forget that in our legislation
01:23there is a right on asylum.
01:25That it has a lot to do with our history.
01:28And this permanent reduction of criminalization of people in the war,
01:35is really wrong.
01:36Left-Party MPs pointed out that third countries are not guaranteed to be safe for migrants.
01:45Every person has human rights, basic rights.
01:47And these are taken to them.
01:49They are thrown into some camps.
01:51And the laws are kept further away.
01:54And the asylum is unknowing.
01:56It actually doesn't exist anymore.
01:58And SPD politicians remain undecided.
02:01There are many points that go in the direction that we have to rule.
02:05There are many points that go in the direction that we need more people's rights.
02:11Control, direction and a firm line is Dobrindt's motto for combating illegal immigration into Germany.
02:17However, with a divided Bundestag, it is unclear how much consensus can be made.
02:22Illegale Migration eindämmen,
02:24that's will with the new European Asylsystem GEARS now finally gelingen.
02:28Darüber wurde im Bundestag hitzig debattiert.
02:31The United States and the Union want more power.
02:34The United States and the Union want more power.
02:35At least due to Rückführungszentren in Drittstaaten.
02:37Also the AfD is for Rückführungszentren.
02:40But she will have to do that,
02:41that the Union will be able to do this in the Tat.
02:44Linke and Grüne are being responsible for the people's rights.
02:47And the SPD is spalten.
02:49Even after the first session shows,
02:51Einigkeit is different.
02:53And the trust in the politics is on the ground.
