A 14-year-old boy was killed and his 16-year-old friend injured after their motorcycle was involved in a six-vehicle crash on the North-South Expressway near Ayer Hitam, Batu Pahat, Johor early Sunday (Oct 12).

00:00A teenage pillion rider was killed in a six-vehicle crash on the North-South Expressway near Ayah

00:13Sani said the collision involving three motorcycles, an express bus, a car, and a van occurred
00:19at kilometre 75.6 southbound around 2.30 a.m. He said the incident began when three motorcycles
00:26collided, causing a 16-year-old rider and his 14-year-old pillion passenger to be thrown onto
00:32the road. The bus, car, and van approaching the scene were unable to avoid the wreckage and
00:39subsequently crashed into one another. The pillion rider, identified as Muhammad Ammar Zafran Khairul
00:46Nizam, died at the scene from severe head and limb injuries, while the rider was taken to the hospital
00:51for treatment. Police are investigating the case under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road
00:58Transport Act, 1987.
