Russian and Venezuelan ambassadors to the UN condemned the US military presence in the Caribbean, calling Washington’s claims of Venezuelan drug trafficking a “Hollywood-style” fabrication. Speaking at a Security Council session in New York, Russia’s Vasily Nebenzya highlighted the region’s growing US troop deployments, while Venezuela’s Samuel Moncada accused the US of attacking civilians and attempting to seize Venezuelan oil. Both diplomats warned that the Caribbean faces a real threat to peace due to what they called a warmongering US agenda.
