00:00After nine hours of surgery, she was finally rolled back into the room.
00:05She was completely sedated, but she was still fighting them.
00:09It can take up to a year to recover from brain surgery.
00:13After she was rolled in, it was time to take all the tubes out and wake her from sedation.
00:18We wanted to see how strong her coordination was and if she was able to breathe on her own.
00:25They did leave the drain in her head for an additional five days.
00:28She did really good, all things considered.
00:32A chest x-ray showed that she had leftover fluid in her lungs and unfortunately she had spiked a fever.
00:38Thanksgiving morning, her doctor came in and told us her tumor was a grade 2 ependymoma, which is cancerous.
00:44He also said we were accepted into St. Jude and we would be leaving Monday morning.
00:48The family spent months in medical housing, supporting Graceland through her surgeries.

00:59She does her vital checks, like a boss.
01:02There is less than 1% chance of someone developing a malignant tumor.
01:05We get back there and it's time to change.
01:07At this point she did get sad, but she powered through it.
01:11Her dad and I left to go get lunch when we got the call she was in recovery.
01:15Thankfully it was best case scenario.
01:17It took them 14 minutes to take this screw out, and thankfully we didn't have to stay as inpatient.
01:23We were released to go back to our room at St. Jude.
01:26After a year of surgeries, Graceland found light at the end of this long, enduring medical tunnel.
01:39So, let's do a break.
