00:00I just got word that one of my neighbors potentially unalive is Nellie.

00:03Nellie!

00:04I can't find her.

00:05I'm freaking out.

00:06My dog Nellie is missing.

00:07I don't know where she is.

00:08She's never been gone this long when I've been calling her.

00:10I need to walk around through my property and see if I can find her, but that dog is

00:13my heart.

00:14Nellie!

00:15I'm having my doubts that she's on the property anymore, and that's scaring me, and I'm afraid

00:18she's not going to meet a very good end, and that's going to destroy me.

00:22He's hoping for the best, but luck might not be on his side.

00:25I'm going to make up a pack.

00:26I'm just going to trek into the woods, hang dirty clothes of ours in the trees.

00:30We're going to try and create our scent to blow in the wind and maybe help her find

01:44First off, I want to say that my wife and I take full responsibility for Nellie no longer

01:50being with us.

01:51Everyone's saying in the comments that we were neglectful.

01:59Anybody who knows us and has seen us interact with our dogs and how we cared for them would

02:03tell you that we were very responsible pet owners.

02:05That being said, keeping Nellie on our property and not letting him get on other people's land

02:10is fully our responsibility.

02:12And even though in the past eight years that we've had Nellie, she's never gotten out like

02:16that and never been a problem to anybody, it still was our fault that she did get out.

02:21It was a real tragedy and an accident that I wasn't paying attention for that half hour

02:25that she got out of my sight.

02:26I've never let her out of my sight ever since we've had her.

02:29And this time I dropped the ball and Nellie's the one who had to pay for that.

02:34Over 10 million pets are lost every year.

02:36Always secure your property and keep your dogs safe.

02:42But do I blame the person for doing it?

02:54I probably would have reacted in a different way to make sure that she was out of danger.

02:58But I can't say that in a situation where I had no idea and I thought Nellie's life was

03:04Everybody who met Nellie would say that she was one of the sweetest, lovable dogs with such

03:09heart and personality.

03:11She was there for me through so many dark moments in my life and I'm really going to

03:15miss her.
