Local Democracy Reporter Ollie Leader has been getting local reaction.
Transcript
00:00A usually busy Labour Party office now partially boarded up.
00:05The aftermath of an attack on Thursday night that led to Kemp Police being called to Maidstone
00:11Rose at 10am on Friday.
00:14And while no one knows exactly what happened to the windows here, party members claim the
00:20incident was politically motivated.
00:22I think it would be an extraordinary coincidence if this was not linked in some way to some
00:27of the rhetoric that we've seen.
00:30Recently, and frankly, that is disgusting.
00:34We live in a democracy and the idea that anyone should become the victim of violence or be
00:44intimidated because of their political beliefs is entirely abhorrent and should be to any
00:50law-abiding Medway resident.
00:53The investigation is still ongoing, it's our understanding police are going door to door
00:58along Maidstone Road to try and get ring doorbell footage or any information that can insist
01:05the ongoing investigation.
01:07Clearly, any political office being attacked in this nature is unacceptable.
01:11I'm sure everybody would agree with that.
01:14I know that colleagues at the Rochester Institute constituents of the Labour Party have reported
01:18the incident to the police.
01:19And obviously we'll wait to hear more while that's been investigated.
01:22The building is insured, but the damage is expected to cost hundreds of pounds.
01:28The anxiety this has created for Labour Party members here in Medway though, is harder to measure.
01:35OLLI Leader in Rochester.
