Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the nation after the signing of the U.S.-brokered Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal, calling it a “new era of hope” for the region. Trump’s envoys — Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff — joined Netanyahu in Jerusalem to celebrate the breakthrough following intense negotiations in Sharm el-Sheikh. The agreement, hailed as a major diplomatic success, includes the release of Israeli hostages and hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, marking the first major step toward stability in Gaza after two years of devastating conflict.

00:00We're at a momentous development in the last two years.
00:06We fought during these two years to achieve our war aims.
00:10And the central one of these war aims is to return the hostages, all of the hostages, the living and the dead.
00:17And we're about to achieve that goal.
00:20We couldn't have achieved it without the extraordinary help of President Trump and his team,
00:26Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
00:29They worked tirelessly with Ron and his team, our team.
00:34And that and the courage of our soldiers to enter Gaza in a combined military and diplomatic pressure
00:44that isolated Hamas, I think has brought us to this point.
00:49I want to personally thank both of you, Steve, Jared.
00:53It's been long hours.
00:56You worked around the clock, but not only worked.
01:06I think you put in your brains and your hearts.
01:14And we know that it's for the benefit of Israel and the United States,
01:18for the benefit of decent people everywhere,
01:21and for the benefit of these families who will finally get to be with our loved ones.
01:25And I want to thank you on their behalf as well, and on behalf of the people of Israel.
01:30With all of them.
01:34Obviously, bringing the hostages home has been a priority for President Trump for a very, very long time,
01:41and we've all worked very tirelessly to do that.
01:44But I really want to say that this all would not have been possible without the bravery of the IDF and the soldiers,
01:51what they've accomplished, not just in Gaza, but also what they've done in the theater over the last couple of years
01:58to eliminate Hezbollah in the north and really degrade them.
02:02What you were able to do in Iran, it really helped set a big tone.
02:04But particularly seeing the way that your citizen army, I know a lot of you,
02:09probably all of you have family, friends who were in this effort,
02:12really put your sacrifices on the line to fight for your country and to try to make a difference.
02:19I think that made a very, very big difference in there.
02:22And I want to just give a very, very special thanks to Prime Minister Netanyahu,
02:27who really did an incredible job with this and did a great job with the negotiations.
02:33You held your lines firm.
02:34And I think that between you and President Trump,
02:37you had a lot of alignment on what the end state should be.
02:40The hard job was the prime minister's.
02:43He had the job of protecting this country.
02:45He had the job of making tough choices with regard to how tough to be with Hamas,
02:51when to be flexible, when not to be flexible.
02:54I think to myself all the time, I lost sleep over it.
02:59What would I have done in some of those circumstances?
03:02There were times that I thought we should be more flexible,
03:06or your country should be more flexible.
03:08But the truth is, as I look back,
03:10I don't think we get to this place without Prime Minister Netanyahu playing it.
03:21I'm not just saying that.
03:22They're not just words.
03:23The president believes that.
03:24My president believes it.
03:26He believes that Prime Minister Netanyahu made some very, very difficult calls.
03:32And lesser people would not have made those calls.
03:35And here we are today because Hamas had to, they had to do this deal.
03:41The pressure was on them.
03:43They were backed up.
03:45And you've got the bigger army.
03:47You were making inroads.
03:48And that's what led to this deal.
