00:00At last, the long-awaited news of a ceasefire has reached Gaza. After two years of war that
00:11shattered lives and leveled homes, scenes of joy filled the streets as residents celebrated
00:15an agreement that finally brought an end to their prolonged suffering. Suffering that
00:19was so extreme, experts officially called it a genocide.
00:23But behind the celebrations lies a heavy toll. More than 70,000 Palestinians were killed
00:32during the war. Around 10,000 others remain under the rubble or missing, and over 2,700
00:38families have been completely erased from the civil registry. The tragedy extends far beyond
00:43the loss of life. More than 1.9 million displaced people are now living in dire humanitarian
00:48conditions amid disease, hunger and destruction. After the war destroyed nearly 90 percent
00:54of the Gaza Strip, turning entire neighborhoods into rubble.
01:05And still, amid the ruins, the people of Gaza took to the streets to celebrate, hoping the
01:09ceasefire might mark the beginning of the end of their suffering and the first step toward
01:13restoring the life that was taken from them.
